Introducing The New Schwarz Etienne 1902 Réserve de Marche

Adding the Power reserve complication to the 1902 collection, and two new dial hues

Schwarz Etienne was founded in 1902 and is headquartered in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The brand has long been admired for its technical creativity and high-level finishes. In recent years, a restructuring strategy has seen Schwarz Etienne reassert its identity through a return to manual-winding calibres and clean, architectural designs, first with the 1902 Petite Seconde and now with the new 1902 Réserve de Marche.

This latest timepiece maintains the sleek profile of its predecessor, housed in a 39mm case crafted from Grade 5 titanium. A combination of polished and brushed finishes gives the lightweight metal a refined glow, while the 10.9mm thickness ensures it sits low and comfortably on the wrist. With 50 meters of water resistance, the watch is robust enough for everyday wear.

The dial introduces subtle complexity through a multi-level, sector-style layout offered in two colourways, a classic silver and a bold 4N gold. A grained central disc is framed by a chapter ring featuring a mix of applied rhodium-plated indices and printed black Arabic numerals at offbeat positions, 4, 8, 10, and 11. A power reserve indicator arcs between 1 and 2 o’clock, while the small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock features a snailed texture and polished border. Time is indicated by lance-shaped hour and minute hands that alternate between polished and sandblasted finishes.

Powering the watch is the in-house calibre MSE 311.00, a hand-wound movement delivering an impressive 120-hour power reserve via two barrels mounted in parallel. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz) and includes a stop-seconds function for precise time setting. The sapphire exhibition caseback reveals a rhodium-plated mainplate with sandblasted surfaces and Côtes de Genève bridges.

Each model is paired with an alligator leather strap lined in rubber, black for the silver dial and brown for the gold, secured with a titanium pin buckle engraved with the Schwarz Etienne logo. Both versions are priced at CHF 19,500, approximately AED 90,000.
