3D Blue Dial with Skeletonized Case
Elliott Kim, a young American of South Korean descent, entered the world of watchmaking at an early age. At just 17, he launched his first timepiece, Theory One, marking the inception of his own brand, J.S. Elliott. Elliott's journey into horology began at 15, when he started restoring and repairing vintage watches. With the release of Theory One in the autumn of 2023, he officially entered the watchmaking industry, ushering in a new chapter of his professional career. This year, the brand unveiled its second edition, the “Theory Two” watch.
The watch comes in a 316L stainless steel case with a combination of brushed, polished, and media blasted finishes. The media blasted finish is a process where fine particles are blasted onto a metal surface under high pressure, creating a matte, textured appearance while removing any imperfections or scratches. Its construction is divided into three sections: the bezel, midcase, and caseback. The case measures 39.0 mm in diameter, 10.4 mm in thickness, and has a 45.0 mm lug-to-lug length. The case also features skeletonized lugs that further enhance the design, and adds a modern touch. Both the front and back of the case are protected by flat sapphire crystals. The watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear and light water exposure.
The dial features a distinctive 3D radial design, with a subdial at the 6 o'clock position displaying the small seconds, accented by applied indices to enhance its depth. A white printed minute track runs along the outer edge, providing a refined sense of precision and balance. The modern aesthetic is further complemented by skeletonized hands, finished with a silver media-blasted treatment.
The watch is powered by the Swiss-made Sellita SW261-1 automatic movement. This movement is finished to a premium standard, showcasing exquisite details like côtes de Genève, blued screws, and rhodium plating, all of which enhance its visual appeal and craftsmanship. With a 41-hour power reserve, the movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), ensuring precise timekeeping. The central rotor is blued, adding a distinctive touch to the movement's aesthetic.
It comes with a handmade grey nubuck strap and steel pin buckle, and priced at USD 1,300 approximately equivalent to AED 4,770.
