Introducing Favre Leuba Unveils Its First Tourbillon Watch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Inspired by a shared father-son story, honoring familial bonds
Jacob & Co. is renowned for blending high jewelry with watchmaking, and over the years, the brand has pushed the boundaries of horology, creating groundbreaking complications and visually arresting timepieces. Each release reflects a relentless pursuit of creativity that is clearly looked at behind all the criticism we see online, making the brand a favorite among celebrities and collectors who want something uniquely different.
In 2023, Jacob & Co. introduced The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone as a tribute to the first dual-time watch owned by the brand’s founder, Jacob Arabo, a gift from his father when he was thirteen years old. This piece carried not only an inspiring design but also a profound family legacy. Two years later, the brand unveiled the first evolution of this model, incorporating one of its signature complications, the tourbillon.
Now, Jacob & Co. presents a special edition of The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone for Salman Khan, a beloved icon of Indian cinema. This timepiece honors familial bonds, inspired by a shared father-son story. Just as Jacob Arabo's father gifted him his first dual-time watch, this edition pays homage to Salman Khan's father, legendary Indian screenwriter Salim Khan.
The watch comes in a stainless steel case with the exact dimensions of the original “The World Is Yours”, featuring a 43mm diameter and a 14mm thickness. On the stainless steel caseback, a laser-engraved world map is accompanied by a custom inscription reading "Salman Khan.” Water resistance is rated at 30 meters. The winding crown offers three distinct positions: the first allows for manual winding, the second enables time zone correction for the 6 o’clock sub-dial, and the third adjusts the 12 o’clock time zone.
The domed blue PVD titanium dial is intricately engraved with continents and finished in rose gold. A compass rose sits at the center, while dual sub-dials showcase time zones with orange Roman numerals at 12 o’clock and green Arabic numerals at 6 o’clock, where Salman Khan's initials, "S.K.," replace the number 30.
Powering the watch is the JCAA14 caliber, an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). The independently adjustable dual time zone complication is ideal for global travelers, especially for non-standard time zone offsets like India’s GMT +5:30.
It comes with a blue alligator leather strap featuring a stainless steel pin buckle. Each piece in this special edition is individually numbered and priced at USD 34,000, approximately AED 125,000.
