Louis Erard Collaborates with GoS on the Latest Edition of Le Régulateur

In December 2021, Louis Erard and GoS Watches were brought together by Manuel Emch, the visionary behind Louis Erard's strategic revival and creative transformation. He found a kindred spirit in Patrik Sjögren, watchmaker and founder of the Swedish atelier GoS, renowned for its mastery of Damascus steel.

Together, they envisioned a timepiece that would seamlessly blend the essence of both Maisons: the technical precision and aesthetic refinement of the Swiss Jura, married to the artistry of a Swedish forge, where Damascus steel is meticulously crafted into mesmerizing patterns through an almost alchemical process.

Introducing Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud Unveils the FB 3SPC in Platinum

Limited editions to celebrate the Swiss brand's 10th anniversary

Ferdinand Berthoud was a master clockmaker appointed by the French King and Navy in the 18th-century, a legacy we explored in depth during our conversation with Vincent Lapaire, the General Manager of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud. The name "Ferdinand Berthoud" was acquired in 2006 by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, co-president of Chopard, and officially established in 2015 under his vision to revive the legacy of this legendary horologist. Over the years, the brand has introduced nine exclusive calibers and three distinguished collections: the FB 1, FB 2, and FB 3, the latter branching out into stunning timepieces such as the FB 3SPC and FB 3SPC.4.

This year marks the brand's 10th anniversary, and to celebrate this milestone, Ferdinand Berthoud unveils a platinum iteration of its award-winning Chronomètre FB 3SPC in salmon pink and black PVD, alongside baguette diamond-set editions.

To be specific, the case is crafted from 950 platinum measuring 42.3mm with a slim 9.43mm thickness, just like its predecessors. Polishing platinum, a metal prized for its density and luster, demands exceptional skill to maintain a flawless surface which demands over 30 hours of meticulous hand-finishing. It features a sapphire “porthole” at 9 o’clock that reveals the regulating organ. The transparent caseback offers another perspective on the movement, protected by glare proofed sapphire crystal.

The watch is available in two dial variants, the FB 3SPC.3 with a sandblasted salmon dial, anthracite numerals and blue CVD-treated gold hands, while the FB 3SPC.3-1 offers a sandblasted black PVD- dial with gray numerals and white gold hands. Both include a subdial at 6 o’clock for seconds and a power-reserve indicator at 2 o’clock.

The watch is powered by Calibre FB-SPC, a hand-wound movement that operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) with a 72-hour power reserve. It carries COSC chronometer certification and has a cylindrical balance spring, which is a rare feature in modern watchmaking, while the three-dimensional architecture.

Each watch comes with a hand-stitched alligator leather strap in different colors with an 18mm platinum pin buckle. The watch also comes with a new clasp that is available on request in rose or white gold. The platinum FB 3SPC is limited to 20 pieces per colorway, with diamond-set versions featuring 77 baguette stones (4.02 carats) limited to just 5 pieces each.

The platinum case version is priced at CHF 158,000, approximately AED 658,000, while the platinum case set with baguette-cut diamonds is available for CHF 220,000, approximately  AED 916,500.
