Introducing The S.U.F. Helsinki Myrsky MY-G Frostpine
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A limited-edition pilot’s watch inspired by forest green hues
Founded in 2003 by Finnish watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva, S.U.F. Helsinki, short for Suomalainen Uhrinvalmistus Fabrikki or “Finnish Watchmaking Factory”, was created as the sportier sibling to the Sarpaneva brand. While Sarpaneva is celebrated for its bold, handcrafted designs, S.U.F. focuses on pragmatic yet distinctive timepieces deeply rooted in Finnish identity at an accessible price.
Among the brand’s standout models is the Myrsky, named after the VL Myrsky fighter plane, Finland’s first domestically developed aircraft. Built during World War II under severe material shortages, the plane was constructed from plywood and fabric. Despite these limitations, it reached speeds of over 530 km/h and became a lasting symbol of Sisu, the Finnish spirit of determination.

This year, the brand expands the collection with the Myrsky MY-G Frostpine. The case measures 42mm in diameter, 10.4mm in thickness, and 51mm lug-to-lug, crafted from high-grade Outokumpu stainless steel sourced from Finland. Sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating protect both the front and back, and buyers can choose between a standard crown at 3 o’clock or a left-hand option at 9 o’clock. A stainless-steel caseback fitted with sapphire crystal reveals the movement within. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The dial introduces a pine green, sunray-brushed finish inspired by vintage cockpit instrumentation. It features elongated markers, luminous hour dots, and white printed accents for enhanced legibility, while blued steel hands filled with Super-LumiNova complete the look.
Powering the watch is the Swiss-made Soprod A10 automatic caliber, regulated in S.U.F.’s Helsinki workshop. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it offers a 42-hour power reserve and is decorated with Côtes de Genève and circular graining.
The Myrsky MY-G Frostpine is fitted with a handmade vintage brown leather strap secured by an 18mm Sarpaneva stainless steel pin buckle. An additional Grassbay strap in blue, produced in collaboration with Erika’s Originals, is also included. Limited to 50 pieces, the watch is priced at €2,470, equivalent to AED 13,293.
