A distinctive guilloché dial inspired by the sunflower
Sartory Billard is an independent French watch brand founded by Armand Billard. The company specializes in custom-made, handcrafted timepieces, produced in limited quantities. Each watch is assembled in France and uses Swiss mechanical movements. Known for its use of rare materials such as meteorite dials and guilloché patterns, Sartory Billard allows clients to personalize nearly every element of their watch. The brand has released a number of models over the years, including permanent editions such as the "Sartory Billard SB04-E". Among its most recent releases is the "SB05 Sunflower", a collaborative piece developed in partnership with the creative brand "Studio Underd0g".
The case of the watch is crafted from durable 316L stainless steel and features a refined combination of polished, brushed, and micro-blasted finishes, offering a dynamic play of textures. Measuring 38.5 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm in thickness, it maintains a slim profile while delivering strong wrist presence. The 45.5 mm lug-to-lug length ensures a balanced fit across a variety of wrist sizes. A distinctive concave bezel elegantly frames the dial, enhancing both depth and visual interest. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear.
The dial is a striking tribute to nature, inspired by the intricate geometry of a sunflower. At its center lies a rich brown grand grain guilloché pattern, echoed on both the main disc and the small seconds sub-dial positioned at 6 o’clock. Surrounding this is a golden outer sector with guilloché detailing, shaped to resemble sunflower petals. A transparent sapphire disc floats above, delicately pad-printed with golden hour indices and a black minute track. The fixed, spear-shaped hands featuring ultra-thin, bead-blasted bases and a finely fluted spine add a touch of refinement, with a subtle green tint accenting the central hands. A satin-finished Studio Underd0g logo plate with beveled edges adds a final signature touch beneath the sub-dial.
The watch is powered by the La Joux Perret caliber 7380, an ultra-thin manual winding movement. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz), it ensures smooth timekeeping with remarkable efficiency. Despite its slim profile, the movement offers an impressive 90-hour power reserve, making it a practical choice.
It comes with a handmade Epsom calfskin strap and is limited to just 10 pieces, priced at EUR 12,700 around AED 53,200.
