A limited edition with a stunning slate green skeletonized dial
The Swiss indie brand Parmigiani Fleurier is a well-known watchmaker celebrated for its traditional craftsmanship and high-quality finishing, qualities that continue to earn the admiration and respect of watch enthusiasts. In 2021, the brand launched the Tonda PF collection, marking its entry into the luxury sports watch segment with an integrated bracelet. A skeletonized version followed in 2022, and a stunning platinum edition released in 2024. This year, the brand is expanding the collection with a new limited edition: the Tonda PF Skeleton Slate Green.
The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case, enhanced with a knurled platinum 950 bezel. It maintains a slim profile at just 8.5mm. Flip the watch over and you’re greeted with a sapphire crystal caseback that reveals the movement in all its mechanical glory. Around the perimeter, you’ll find the engraved serial number and the “1 of 50” marking, denoting its limited-edition of 50 pieces. With 100 meters of water resistance, this skeletonized timepiece isn’t just elegant, it’s also practical enough for daily wear.
Skeletonised watches often struggle with readability due to the intricate bridges and finishing details that compete for attention. However, Parmigiani’s designers have cleverly addressed this challenge with suspended rhodium-plated indices and openworked delta-shaped hands that enhance legibility without compromising the aesthetics. The true showstopper, though, is the Slate Green dial, an elegant shade inspired by Le Corbusier’s architectural palette. The dial combines sandblasted and brushed textures, adding depth and contrast to the visual experience.
Powering the watch is Parmigiani’s PF777 calibre, a fully skeletonised automatic movement operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivering a 60-hour power reserve. A 22K white gold rotor, visible through the open caseback, adds an extra touch of sophistication to the mechanical spectacle.
The watch is paired with a stainless steel bracelet, secured by a folding clasp. It is priced at CHF 65,000, approximately AED 291,500.
