Diamond-Set Timepieces That Elevate Everyday Functionality with a Touch of Elegance
Oris introduces two sparkling new variants of the Aquis Date 36.50 mm, each set with diamonds. The brief behind the Aquis Date 36.50 mm, launched last year, was a bespoke watch that was glamorous and jewel-like, but that also promised all the practical benefits associated with the Aquis Date, our everyday toolwatch.
As the company retained all the collection’s key elements, from its automatic movement to a uni-directional rotating bezel, a lumed lollipop running seconds hand, and a corrosion-resistant stainless steel case, it added a jewel-like feel through the use of diamonds to create the Aquis Date Diamonds 36.50 mm. One variant features 11 indices, each set with three brilliant-cut diamonds; the other features a bezel set with 44 brilliant-cut diamonds. In both versions, the diamonds are conflict-free and lab-grown, in keeping with the brand’s sustainable watchmaking profile.
The case of the Aquis Date Diamonds is crafted from multi-piece stainless steel and measures 36.50 mm in diameter. The case features prominent crown guards flanking the screw-down crown. It is protected by a sapphire crystal on the dial side and a mineral glass caseback. While it is the smallest model in the Aquis Date collection, it still offers the same 300-meter water resistance.
Undoubtedly, the unidirectional rotating bezel has always been the star of the show for this collection, and that remains true here. The black dial version uses a black ceramic insert, while the mother-of-pearl version is fitted with a bezel set with 44 lab-grown diamonds.
The dial of the Aquis Date Diamonds is presented in either a black finish with 11 indices each set with three brilliant-cut diamonds, or a creamy mother-of-pearl hue. The hour and minute hands are filled with Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in low-light conditions. The lollipop design of the seconds hand is a signature feature of the collection.
The date window is positioned at 6 o’clock, with a black background for the black dial and a creamy tone for the mother-of-pearl version, each matching the respective dial color.
Powering both models is the Oris Calibre 733, based on the reliable Sellita SW200-1, featuring the brand’s signature red rotor. Visible through the transparent caseback, the automatic movement offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). It features an instantaneous date change at midnight, a fine timing device for accurate regulation, and a stop-seconds or "hacking" function for precise time setting.

The second option is a multi-piece stainless steel bracelet. It secures with Oris’s folding clasp, which includes a diver’s extension system for easy adjustment over a wetsuit.
