Introducing Tiffany & Co. Unveils the Atlas Watch with Automatic Movement

Reviving the iconic collection with new sizes and calibers

Tiffany & Co. is one of the most iconic American jewelers, with a history dating back to 1837, and has always been closely tied to New York City. Nowhere is this connection more symbolic than in the monumental Atlas clock, first installed by Charles Lewis Tiffany above his Broadway store in 1853. Supported by a statue of the mythological titan, the clock quickly became a Manhattan landmark and a powerful emblem of time. When the company moved its store to Fifth Avenue in 1940, the clock, and its bearer, moved with it, continuing to watch over the city’s rhythm to this day.

It’s that same rhythm that inspired the original Atlas watch in 1983, and again in the mid-1990s with engraved Roman numerals on the bezel. This year, the brand revives the collection with a fresh design and, for the first time, automatic Swiss movements.

The new Atlas watches are available in three stainless steel case sizes, 29mm, 34mm, and 38mm. All cases share a sleek, polished profile with a wide, bevelled bezel. Select models in the smaller sizes also feature diamond-set bezels. The caseback is engraved with Roman numerals, echoing the typography of the original Atlas clock, and each watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.

The standout feature of the Atlas watch is its Roman numerals, now recessed into a wide outer ring that frames the central dial. The 34mm and 38mm models are offered with either Tiffany Blue or white dials, while the 29mm version comes exclusively in Tiffany Blue.

A major leap forward for the collection is the introduction of automatic mechanical movements in the 34mm and 38mm models. These Swiss-made calibers offer a 50-hour power reserve and display hours, minutes, and seconds. The 29mm model, on the other hand, is equipped with a solar-powered quartz movement developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret.

All watches come fitted with an integrated stainless steel bracelet featuring brushed inner links that subtly reflect light, elevating the overall aesthetic. The watches join the brand’s permanent collection. As for pricing, the 38mm variant is priced at USD 5,500 (approximately AED 20,200), while the 34mm model is priced at USD 5,300 (approximately AED 19,500).
