Frederique Constant's Latest Addition to the Highlife Chronograph Collection

The Highlife collection, Frederique Constant’s most celebrated lines, debuted in 1999 as an affordable luxury sports watch. Relaunched in 2020, the collection gained fresh momentum, and by 2022, the brand introduced the Highlife Chronograph to its portfolio.

This year, Frederique Constant commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Highlife collection with a stunning addition to the 41mm Chronograph Automatic lineup. The latest release is a limited edition of 1,888 pieces, featuring a stainless steel case, an off white opaline dial, and striking green subdials. This model joins its predecessors versions with blue and black subdials housed in steel cases, and a more recent iteration with a blue dial and a gold-plated case.

Introducing Holthinrichs in collaboration with Horology Club Announces The Concrete Jungle Watch

A luminous Dial Inspired by The Beauty of Hong Kong

Holthinrichs Watches was founded in 2016 by Michiel Holthinrichs, a Dutch architect turned watchmaker. The brand is known for its innovative approach to horology, combining cutting-edge 3D printing technology with traditional craftsmanship to create timepieces that are both sculptural and functional.

One of the brand's most recent releases in 2024 is the "Concrete Jungle" watch, inspired by the vibrant city of Hong Kong. This timepiece draws from the urban landscape, concrete structures, and Chinese culture, reflecting the fusion of tradition and modernity. The watch was founded in collaboration with The Horology Club, a prestigious watch community founded by Jonathan Chan in Hong Kong. The club is known for its exclusive focus on luxury watch enthusiasts, promoting horological education and organizing special events and exhibitions dedicated to rare and exceptional timepieces.

The watch offers two distinct case options, both crafted from Grade 5 titanium for durability and a refined finish. The "Ornament" Case features a more traditional design with CNC-machined surfaces that include polishedbrushed. It also has a grained bezel and a polished titanium ring surrounding the dial. In contrast, the "LAB" Case is crafted using advanced 3D printing technology, allowing for intricate details like skeletonized lugs, which give it a unique and modern appeal. Both cases have a diameter of 38.5mm, a thickness of 9.85mm, and a 46mm lug-to-lug distance, offering a well-balanced, lightweight design suitable for everyday wear.

The dial draws inspiration from Hong Kong, famously known as the “concrete jungle,” and reflects the city’s iconic skyline and urban energy. The dial features lume-infused concrete, making it the first of its kind ever created, ensuring legibility in the dark. The textured, matte grey of the concrete uses a metal base, giving it a stone-like appearance and industrial aesthetic. Enhancing the dial are numeric indices in oracle bone script, the oldest form of Chinese writing, which are created through a meticulous moulding process.

The watch is powered by a modified Sellita SW-300 caliber, equipped with a Holthinrichs-specific rotor. This movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph(4Hz) and provides a 50-hour power reserve.

It comes with a grey nubuck leather strap and a Delugs rubber sailcloth strap. The Lab case, limited to 50 pieces, is priced at EUR 5,600, approximately AED 22,400. Meanwhile, the Ornament case is available for purchase through a time-limited order and is priced at EUR 3,850, approximately AED 15,400.
