Expanding an icon with a bold red aesthetic
Hautlence is known for creating distinctive timepieces, characterized by cases shaped like vintage televisions, setting it apart from other luxury watch brands. Established in 2004, the brand quickly gained widespread recognition for its bold and innovative designs. Since joining the "MELB Holding" group in 2012, alongside "H. Moser & Cie," the brand has significantly expanded its collections, blending traditional craftsmanship with technological innovation. Furthermore, Hautlence has stood out for its unique approach to displaying time, using unconventional mechanisms.
One of its most iconic releases is the Linear Series, which debuted in 2022, marking a new era for the indie brand and offering a fresh perspective on Hautlence's innovative approach to time display with its vertical retrograde jumping hour. As part of its participation in Watches & Wonders 2025, the brand is expanding this collection with the Linear Series 3 Red Passion, pushing this vision even further with its vibrant red aesthetic.
The watch features a stainless steel case with a mix of brushed and polished accents. It measures 43mm by 50.8mm, is 12.2mm thick, and offers 100m of water resistance. A red rubber ring on the crown subtly echoes the overall theme. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, and the caseback also features the same glass.
The skeletonized, rhodium-plated dial showcases a vertical retrograde jumping hour display on the left side, coated with Super-LumiNova, combined with a tinted sapphire crystal disc for the minutes. The Globolight (luminous ceramic) numerals and the red Zapon lacquer on the surface enhance the dial's visual appeal. Additionally, a one-minute flying tourbillon is displayed under a black bridge.
Powering the timepiece is the automatic D50 calibre, developed with a base from H. Moser & Cie. 's movement and a module from the Swiss manufacturer, Agenhor. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz) and offers a 72-hour power reserve.
The watch comes with a red rubber strap and a stainless steel pin buckle. It is limited to just 28 pieces and is priced at CHF 63,000, approximately AED 261,800.
