Introducing GOS Unveils New Edition in Collaboration with Fashion Designer Martin Key

Handcrafted Dial from Damascus Steel Framed by a Gold Ring

GoS Watches was founded in 2007 by master swordsmith Johan Gustafsson and master watchmaker Patrik Sjögren, who combined traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship with contemporary design. The brand is known for its handcrafted Damascus steel, which gives each watch a unique pattern. Since 2021, Patrik Sjögren has been the sole owner, and Swedish swordsmith Conny Persson now manufactures the Damascus steel. GoS designs are inspired by Scandinavian nature and history. Today, we will review the brand’s latest offering, the “GoS Martin Key” watch, in collaboration with Swedish fashion designer Martin Key.

The case of this timepiece measures 41.5mm in diameter and 11mm in height, with a 49.5mm lug-to-lug length. Crafted from stainless steel with a black PVD coating, the case features meticulous finishing inspired by Viking bracelet designs, with a combination of satinized and polished surfaces. The exhibition case back is engraved, and the domed sapphire crystal is treated with double-sided AR coating for enhanced clarity and scratch resistance. The crown, designed by GoS, boasts a polished finish with bead-blasted grooves and hand polished bevels, integrated with a crown guard and double gaskets for water resistance up to 50 meters.

The dial is crafted from hand forged Damascus steel, adorned with the GoS wildflower pattern in a deep black finish. The pattern is meticulously shaped by master artisan Conny Persson, with the final touches applied by Patrik in the GoS atelier. The indexes ring is made of solid 18k gold, carefully shaped and polished in the GoS workshop, and features 12 diamonds, 4 purple and 8 black sets. The hands are designed in the iconic GoS spear shape, with a high-gloss black rhodium plating, also applied by Patrik, completing the dial with precision and elegance.

The watch is powered by the La Joux-Perret G101 movement, a high-performance automatic calibre. operated at frequency 28,800 vph (4Hz), and 65 hour power reserve, it offers both precision and durability. A unique highlight of the G101 is its custom skeletonized rotor made from solid Tungsten, which is beautifully bevelled and coated with a purple ceramic finish to complement the MK color scheme. The rotor is further adorned with a gold-colored Triskele emblem, symbolizing harmony and continuity, elevating the movement's mechanical sophistication and aesthetic appeal.

It comes with a handcrafted, tapered strap in calf leather, with a folding buckle. This watch is limited to just 4 pieces in 2024, with only eight watches available each year thereafter. These timepieces are sold exclusively at Martin Key's boutique in Stockholm or at the GoS Watches atelier in Linköping, Sweden. Priced at USD 18,000 equivalent to AED 66,000.
