Introducing Glashütte Original Expands the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Collection
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Limited-edition Plasma and Fusion infuse bold colors into the Classic design
Introduced in 2014, Glashütte Original’s Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date perfectly captured the design spirit of 1970s watchmaking with its distinctive TV-shaped case profile. For 2025, the German brand pushes this retro-inspired concept further, unveiling two vibrant, limited-edition models: the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Fusion and Plasma.
A key element in the creation of these new editions is the brand’s recently inaugurated dial manufactory, which officially opened in June 2025. This state-of-the-art facility grants Glashütte Original complete creative and quality control over one of the most visually defining aspects of its timepieces. Following the debut of the PanoLunarTourbillon dial, the Fusion and Plasma editions are the second set of dials to emerge from this new atelier.
Like its predecessors, the watch features a square-shaped stainless steel case with a 40 x 40mm diameter and a thickness of 14.1mm. The case showcases a refined combination of brushed and polished finishes, and it is equipped with sapphire crystal on both the dial side and the caseback. Additionally, the watch maintains a water resistance of 100 meters.
The new colorways Fusion and Plasma are deliberately evocative, hinting at futuristic energy sources and modern design codes. The Fusion edition features a striking lime-green dial, a “yellow-green” tone inspired by the vivid hues often used to portray virtual realities and futuristic digital landscapes.
The Plasma edition, by contrast, presents a deep, intense purple dial, evoking the imagery of glowing energy fields and otherworldly phenomena. Both dials are finished with a velvety matt lacquer that absorbs light, resulting in rich color saturation and a refined, almost soft visual effect.
Both dials are treated with a velvety matt lacquer. The matt texture, however, absorbs light, giving the colors a rich saturation and a sophisticated, almost soft appearance.
Functionally, the layout remains true to the collection’s DNA, with all indications set against black backgrounds with crisp white printing. The dial hosts a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a small seconds sub-dial with integrated power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock, a 12-hour chronograph counter above the center, and the signature Panorama Date at 6 o’clock. The central chronograph seconds hand retains the collection’s hallmark double-G counterweight.

Both watches are powered by the Calibre 37-02 the same used in the collection previous editions, an in-house automatic movement featuring an integrated flyback chronograph with a column wheel. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and provides a power reserve of 70 hours.
The new Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Plasma and Fusion editions are limited to 100 pieces and are available with either a black rubber strap featuring a butterfly folding clasp, priced at EUR 16,800 which is equivalent to 72,175 AED on steel bracelet, or EUR 15,600 which is equivalent to 67,000 AED on rubber strap.
