Without prior notice, a limited edition created for Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc
Richard Mille has always stood apart with its high-tech materials, outrageous designs, and, of course, its strong ties in motorsport. Now, after years of wearing Richard Mille watches on and off the track, Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc finally receives something he was never offered before: a watch officially bearing his name.
The RM 72-01 “Charles Leclerc” marks a significant milestone. Although the Monégasque driver has worn various Richard Mille references throughout his career, including the RM 67-02 and other editions of the RM 72-01, this is the first time the brand has released a timepiece specifically designed for and named after him.
The white Quartz TPT case, a featherweight composite made from stacked silica layers fused with resin, is cut through with bold red stripes, a nod to both the colors of the Monégasque flag and Leclerc’s scarlet Ferrari livery. It measures 38.4mm in width, 47.34mm from lug to lug, and just 11.68mm thick. The black crown is shaped to resemble a tire deforming under torque.
The skeletonized dial embraces the red-and-white theme, with both colors appearing prominently throughout. It features a 60-minute counter at the top, a small seconds subdial on the left, and a 24-hour counter below, next to a vertical date window.
Flip the watch over, and you're treated to a transparent caseback revealing the CRMC-1 movement. This in-house automatic calibre features a flyback chronograph, operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and delivers a 50-hour power reserve. Like every Richard Mille movement, it’s a blend of extreme engineering and artistic finishing, complete with shock protection, a platinum rotor on ceramic ball bearings, and a function selector to toggle between winding, setting, and date adjustment.
The watch is paired with a white rubber strap and is limited to just 150 pieces. It is priced at $330,000, approximately AED 1,215,000.
