Introducing The New Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo

The latest addition to the Luminor collection, the smallest timepiece with GMT functionality

Florence, the Italian city of art, saw the beginning of Panerai in 1860. Their manufacturing facility is located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Panerai timepieces are easily recognizable by their oversized, cushion-shaped cases and unique crown protectors, a signature feature of the brand, in several watch collections, each with its own unique style and features, but today we are going to delve into the new release of the Luminor collection.

1993 marked the debut of the iconic Luminor watch series to the public. Prior to this, Panerai timepieces were exclusively for Italian military use. Panerai's Luminor collection, which includes many models like Marina and Quaranta. Luminor’s collection celebrated for its robust design, innovative materials, and striking aesthetics. 

Panerai now unveils an addition to the Luminor collection, an exceptional timepiece, the New "Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo". Thanks to its GMT feature, the new model can track the time in two different time zones. 

Inscribed with the name BiTempo, meaning “dual time” in Italian. The Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo is presented in a 40mm brushed steel case, the smallest size of this group, topped with a highly polished bezel, and characterized by the signature safety lock crown protection device. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 100 meters. 

The familiar sandwich dial made of three parts, features a top layer drilled with a sandblasted finish in two options,  black or white color, the lower solid plate was covered with luminous substance, both plates were joined with the interposition of a transparent Perspex disc. 

With baton-style hour and minute hands, a small seconds hand at 9 o’clock, a date indication positioned at 3 o’clock. Furthermore, this model is endowed with an additional, tipped hour hand that provides a simple means of indicating the ‘home time’. a ‘GMT watch’, the dial features arabic numerals and hour markers, in the matte black dial, paired with white Super-Luminova, while the matte white dial, combined with grey Super-Luminova. The gilded tip of the GMT hand illuminates in blue while the indexes glow in green, enhancing the watch’s legibility and aesthetic appearance. 

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, the automatic P.900/GMT made in house, operates at 28,800 VPH with a power reserve of 72 hours, coming with an anti-shock mechanism and a single barrel.

The new timepiece comes with an black alligator strap, tone-on-tone stitching and brushed steel buckle, equipped with the intuitive PAM Click Release System, allowing for easy strap changes. It Also comes with an additional black rubber strap, for the matte black dial, while the matte white dial comes with a blue rubber strap. It is priced at EUR 9,300 which is equivalent to AED 36,000.
