Louis Erard Unveils the Limited-Edition Gravée Main

Since 2021, Louis Erard has been redefining the boundaries of Métiers d’Art, from Grand Feu enamel and guilloché to wood marquetry, and soon, gold wire inlay. Now, Gravée Main opens a new chapter, paying tribute to one of the oldest crafts in watchmaking hand engraving.
Gravée Main represents a new milestone in Louis Erard’s Métiers d’Art series. This limited edition of 99 unique timepieces places hand engraving at center stage, with every metal element entirely engraved and finished by hand, a meticulous process that requires more than 50 hours of work.

Introducing The Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 in Platinum & Pink Gold

New variations from Jaeger-LeCoultre enrich the collection with elegance

The Master Grande Tradition collection was introduced in 2013 to showcase Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most refined complications, blending classic round-case elegance with the brand's highest level of craftsmanship. Since its debut, the line has served as a stage for technical artistry, often inspired by the pursuit of precision that pushes the boundaries of watchmaking. This year, the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 returns in new variations in platinum and pink gold.

The case measures 42 mm in diameter and 13.27 mm in thickness. Two editions are offered in platinum with blue dials, one with a polished bezel and another with a bezel set with 72 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 3.4 carats. The third model features an 18k pink gold case paired with a warm brown dial. Comprising more than 80 individual components, each case is finished with a combination of polished, brushed, and micro-blasted surfaces.

The dial presents perpetual calendar sub-dials displaying the day, date, month, and year, with laser-engraved numerals in relief and polished hands for clarity. A moonphase shows a polished lunar disc set against a starry backdrop, while the flying tourbillon takes its place at 6 o’clock. Seconds are indicated on a 20-second arc beneath the tourbillon, measured by three hands mounted on the rotating cage.

Inside beats the automatic Calibre 985, a highly complex movement composed of 431 parts. Its flying tourbillon, built from 83 titanium components weighing just 0.386 grams, is equipped with a cylindrical hairspring, a rare form conceived in the 18th century and revived by Jaeger-LeCoultre for enhanced isochronism. The calibre operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a 45-hour power reserve.

Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the 22k rose gold rotor is visible, decorated with sunray engraving and a reproduction of the medal awarded to Antoine LeCoultre at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London to showcase his pioneering inventions in watchmaking, particularly component interchangeability and the millionometre.

The platinum models are paired with blue alligator straps and pin buckles, while the pink gold edition comes with a brown alligator strap and double folding clasp. Prices are available upon request.
