Blancpain presents the Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet and Chronographe Flyback models in full Red Gold. Featuring a case and bracelet crafted from 18K red gold. two months ago Bathyscaphe watches, presented on a black ceramic case and bracelet and it was the first time Blancpain launched a bracelet made of ceramic. now comes in red gold but a little smaller and thinner case.
Blancpain introduced the Fifty Fathoms in 1953 as one of the first true diver’s watches. The Bathyscaphe, a more versatile version for daily wear, followed in 1956. The modern Bathyscaphe, unveiled at Baselworld in 2013, has evolved into a key series for Blancpain, with various models, including chronographs and time-and-date versions.
The Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet was first introduced in 2018 in a stainless steel version, housing caliber 6654.P with its Quantième Complet (complete calendar) complication. This combination of classic complication and diving credentials makes it such a special watch. The watch, already available in a gold case, now has a gold bracelet to match. We recently saw it in a ceramic case combined with a ceramic bracelet.
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune Gold
The new Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune features a 43 mm red gold case, measures 13.4 mm thick, thinner than the ceramic edition, and offers water resistance up to 300 meters. It also includes a sapphire crystal and a red gold bezel with a ceramic insert, showcasing its diver’s watch heritage with a unidirectional rotating bezel.
The dial comes in elegant blue, featuring a subtle gradient combined with a sunburst finish. The Quantième Complet, or Complete Calendar, includes a traditional pointer date display around the dial, day of the week and month windows at 12 o'clock, and moon phases in a sub-dial at 6 o'clock.
The automatic movement is caliber 6654.P, which offers a 72-hour power reserve thanks to its two barrels. This secure movement allows the wearer to adjust the calendar indications at any time of day without risk of damage. Adorned with traditional Fine Watchmaking decorations such as bevelling, circular graining, and snailing, this calibre incorporates a silicon balance spring, making it impervious to magnetism.
