Since its debut in 1973, the Limelight Gala collection has seen numerous releases that reflect Piaget’s dedication to feminine elegance. It has also served as an ideal canvas for artistic collaborations with renowned designers, the most recent being a special edition in partnership with Emirati designer Shamsa Alabbar. Today, Piaget continues to lead in creativity and excellence across both watchmaking and jewelry, with its artisans mastering over 40 different crafts within the Maison’s own ateliers—ensuring that each Limelight Gala timepiece is a true work of art, entirely hand-engraved by master craftsmen.
The 32mm case features a fluid and balanced design, exuding femininity with asymmetrical lugs that gracefully embrace the wrist. Crafted from solid gold, the case pays homage to Piaget’s legacy as the “Maison of Gold” since 1957.
The first edition is a radiant gold masterpiece, adorned with a bezel set with 42 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 4.74 carats. The second edition, featuring a deep burgundy dial, celebrates Piaget’s mastery of color, blending pure diamonds with light pink sapphires and deep red sapphires, evoking the spirit of Piaget’s classic creations.
The case design harmoniously integrates with the engraved motifs on both the dial and bracelet, showcasing Piaget’s unparalleled gold-working expertise. The hand-applied decorative techniques used in the Limelight Gala collection reflect the Maison’s commitment to preserving and perfecting rare artisanal skills. The meticulously hand-engraved pattern, executed by master craftsmen, embodies a level of precision and artistry passed down through generations.
The Burgundy edition, in particular, highlights Piaget’s mastery of color through the Grand Feu enamel technique, where a vitreous enamel coating is applied to the dial after it has been meticulously engraved by hand, resulting in a deep, luminous finish with a rich and unique texture.
Both models are powered by the ultra-thin 501P1 automatic movement, measuring just 3.63mm in thickness. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement offers a 40-hour power reserve. Finely decorated, it features a central rotor and bridges adorned with Côtes de Genève patterns, gears with a spiral finish, and traditional heat-blued screws securing the bridgesة hallmarks of Piaget’s dedication to fine watchmaking.
