Continuing its Collaboration with Mike Horn to Create Rugged Watches for Adventurers
The Panerai Submersible GMT Titanio Mike Horn Experience Edition, PAM01670, celebrates Panerai’s enduring collaboration with the legendary explorer Mike Horn. This limited-edition watch, designed for adventure, embodies over two decades of shared values between the brand and the Swiss national, widely regarded as one of the greatest living explorers and a record-breaking pioneer in endurance.
Panerai has consistently crafted timepieces for Horn, each reflecting their mutual commitment to resilience and exploration. Part of the iconic Submersible collection, the PAM01670 highlights technical innovation and durability, making it an ideal companion for extreme environments. With a water resistance of 500 meters, it surpasses its predecessors, appealing to professional divers and adventurers alike.
The Submersible collection stands as a testament to Panerai’s historic ties to the sea and its dedication to crafting reliable instruments.
The Submersible GMT Titanio boasts a robust 47-millimeter case made of grade 5 titanium, produced using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). This advanced technique ensures exceptional strength while significantly reducing weight. The unidirectional rotating bezel, crafted from Panerai’s innovative Carbotech material, features a unique pattern, ensuring that no two watches are identical.
The case back is engraved with Horn’s signature in blue, symbolizing the partnership. Panerai’s signature crown-protection device enhances durability, and the case is engineered to withstand underwater pressures of up to 500 meters.
The skeletonized dial showcases the intricate movement underneath while integrating a patented polarized date display. This ingenious feature allows the date to remain visible without obstructing the view of the movement. The central hands indicate hours, minutes, and a second time zone via the GMT hand with an orange, triangle-shaped tip. An AM/PM indicator is embedded within the small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. The watch also features a blue inner bezel and hands and indices coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal readability in low-light conditions.
Powering the PAM01670 is Panerai’s in-house automatic caliber P.4001/S. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (VPH), this skeletonized movement features open-worked bridges, revealing its intricate components. Equipped with a tungsten micro-rotor, the caliber offers a 72-hour power reserve from its twin barrels. A power reserve indicator is located on the case back, further emphasizing its technical sophistication.
The watch is paired with a black strap and a titanium pin buckle, ensuring both comfort and durability. Limited to just 30 pieces, the Panerai Submersible GMT Titanio Mike Horn Experience Edition is priced at GBP 65,900, approximately AED 303,000.
