Introducing Omega Unveils The Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 Edition

The 1940s inspired collection in Steel or for the first time in Moonshine gold

Since 1932, OMEGA has served as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, releasing Olympic-themed timepieces to commemorate each edition, such as the Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024 Edition we saw last year. Omega decided to choose their vintage-styled Chronoscope Speedmaster to commemorate the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, offering it in steel and for the first time in this collection, in moonshine gold.

As previously mentioned, this marks the first instance of solid gold being utilized in the collection. The brand has now employed its proprietary yellow gold alloy, Moonshine gold. Regardless of whether steel or gold, these new Speedmaster Chronoscope models maintain the same 43mm case diameter and 13mm thickness. One notable difference between the steel and gold versions lies in the bezel, the tachymeter insert is made of anodized aluminum on the steel version and black ceramic on the Moonshine edition. The case boasts a box sapphire crystal on top, and for this special edition, a solid steel or gold caseback engraved with the Paris 2024 logo.

The opaline dial in silvery white hosts blackened subdials, while various accents of Moonshine gold adorn the Arabic numerals, leaf-shaped hands, and sub-counter hands, with scales inspired by 1940s snail designs. These scales include a tachymeter scale, a pulsometer scale, and a telemeter scale, enhancing both its visual appeal and practicality.

Powering the watch is the caliber 9908/9909, an in-house Master Chronometer certified hand-wound chronograph operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz), and offering 60-hour power reserve. Featuring a co-axial escapement and boasting 15,000 gauss magnetic resistance, this movement ensures precision and reliability.

The watch is offered in either steel or an 18K Moonshine gold bracelet, each featuring a folding clasp with micro-adjustment. Additionally, the watch can be paired with leather straps equipped with a pin buckle. The steel variant with a strap is priced at EUR 10,400, equivalent to AED 40,600, and EUR 10,800, equivalent to AED 42,200, with a bracelet. For the gold version, the price is EUR 36,000, equivalent to AED 141,000, with a strap, and EUR 56,600, equivalent to AED 221,000, with a bracelet.
