Three Dials Reflect the Brand's Photographic Inspiration
Leica is a renowned German brand primarily known for its high-quality cameras and optical equipment. Founded in Wetzlar, Germany, Leica has established a reputation not only in photography but also in the production of exceptional mechanical watches. Leica's mechanical watches embody the same spirit of creativity and elegant design for which the brand is famous. Each watch showcases remarkable craftsmanship and precision. The brand has released numerous watch editions. Today, we are excited to introduce the latest releases from the brand: the "ZM11" collection, which features three distinct versions: the "Launch Edition," the "Coffee Black," and the "Midnight Blue."
The "Launch Edition" and "Coffee Black" versions feature cases crafted from lightweight titanium, while the "Midnight Blue" edition boasts a robust stainless steel case. Each watch has a diameter of 41mm, a thickness of 13mm, and a lug-to-lug measurement of 47mm. All three models are protected by anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, ensuring durability and clarity for the dial.
The case back, made from the same sapphire crystal, safeguards the intricate movement within. Additionally, red buttons located at the top and bottom of the case back allow for easy bracelet removal. Each model is water-resistant up to a depth of 100 meters by screw down crown, combining functionality with elegant design.
The three dials of the ZM11 collection, the midnight blue watch in Blue to black, warm Black for black coffee watch, and the Launch Edition in Black to Red Accents are designed to interact with light in subtle ways. Each dial features a unique, ultra-thin two layer construction measuring just 0.4mm, creating a three-dimensional effect that is enhanced by varying surface finishes. The black ring, inspired by Leica’s esteemed lens making expertise, elegantly frames the dial with a numbered minute track for easy readability, allowing light to beautifully play across its surface. The Blue to black dial has a sunray, glossy texture, while the Black Tan offers a warm, satin finish. The Launch Edition stands out with its striking black and red contrasts.
The date window at 3 o’clock integrates seamlessly into the overall design. The diamond cut, luminescent filled hands and rectangular indices add depth and sophistication, showcasing a harmonious blend of polished and sandblasted textures, all enhanced by Super-LumiNova for improved readability in low light. The dial reflects Leica's photographic inspiration.
The three editions are powered by the LA-3001 automatic movement, developed through a collaboration between Leica and Swiss firm Chronode. This sophisticated movement boasts a 60 hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), delivering an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day. Its aesthetic appeal is enhanced by a blend of polished, brushed, and sandblasted surfaces, with the bridges showcasing a striking dark grey galvanic ruthenium plating.
The watches are offered with a titanium bracelet for the titanium models at price USD 8,150 equivalent to AED 29,900 and a stainless steel bracelet for the stainless steel version at price USD 6,775 equivalent to AED 24,900, or with a rubber or fabric strap featuring a pin buckle. Notably, the Launch Edition is limited to just 250 pieces, while the other two editions are part of a permanent collection.
