Introducing Hublot Unveils the Big Bang Meca-10 in a 42mm Size

Smaller Size, Same Mechanical Complexity, and a 10-Day Power Reserve

Hublot, which has accustomed us to using LVMH Watch Week as its platform to showcase innovative ideas and its latest creations, has unveiled the new Big Bang Meca-10 with a 42mm diameter during the sixth edition of the event.

This smaller size compared to previous editions highlights the brand's ability to deliver mesmerizing complications and advanced materials in more compact dimensions. The Big Bang Meca-10 retains the complexity of its mechanical movement, offering an impressive 10-day power reserve, and is available in three distinctive materials: luxurious King Gold, high-tech titanium, and lightweight pressed carbon.

First launched in 2016, the Meca-10 stood out with its unique design, featuring a ring-shaped base plate connected to bridges. This design combined visual appeal with structural integrity. The new 2025 edition reimagines this skeletonized design by making it more open to reveal the movement's components, with a smaller size and finely crafted decorations. Hublot's engineers and watchmakers faced the challenge of maintaining the essence of the original design and its substantial power reserve while introducing a more compact and refined design.

The latest version of the Big Bang Meca-10 retains the familiar silhouette of its predecessor but comes in a smaller size, making it more comfortable to wear. It measures 42mm in diameter and 13.9mm in thickness, compared to the previous larger dimensions of 45mm by 15.8mm. The case continues to offer water resistance up to 100 meters.

The dial reveals the open-worked movement components, featuring a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, the balance wheel at 7 o’clock, and the rack system at 12 o’clock, also known as the gear rack.

The power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock has been redesigned using this linear rack system, referred to in French as “crémaillère,” a rare mechanism in mechanical watches. The last two days of the power reserve are highlighted in red. Although the movement exceeds a 10-day power reserve, the display is limited to 10 days to ensure optimal chronometric performance.

The case back reveals two skeletonized barrels responsible for the remarkable 10-day power reserve. These barrels are visible beneath three parallel bridges adorned with satin-brushed finishes and hand-polished chamfers. The bridge colors match the case material, creating a cohesive aesthetic.

The King Gold and titanium versions come with black, striated rubber straps and folding clasps made of 18K King Gold or black-coated titanium. The carbon version features a black fabric strap with a Velcro fastening. Hublot’s practical one-click interchangeable strap system allows straps to be swapped in seconds without tools.
