A Limited-Edition Design Paying Tribute to Moser's Vintage Chronographs from the 1940s
H. Moser & Cie. returns with another remarkable collaboration, this time unveiling the limited-edition Endeavour Chronograph Compax in partnership with Massena LAB. This chronograph timepiece pays tribute to vintage chronographs, seamlessly blending classic design with modern innovation. Speaking of collaborations, we recently witnessed the unique partnership between H. Moser & Cie. and the English brand Studio Underd0g at Geneva Watch Days 2024.
Now, once again, H. Moser expands the Endeavour collection with a chronograph edition. Massena LAB, known for its impressive collaborations with big names in the watches industry like they did with the Phillips Auctions, is perhaps most famous for its work with Louis Erard.
The design of this collaborative piece by Massena LAB departs slightly from the minimalist approach typically associated with H. Moser & Cie., while still embracing the aesthetic of the 1940s. It strikes a balance between tradition and contemporary boldness, a testament to the expertise of William Massena, a vintage watch connoisseur and long-time friend of H. Moser & Cie., whose vision was instrumental in bringing this timepiece to life.
The H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Chronograph Compax features a solid steel case with a diameter of 41.0 mm and a height of 13.3 mm. It is protected by a sapphire crystal, ensuring durability while offering a clear view of the striking Funky Blue fumé dial. The see-through case back allows a glimpse into the intricate movement, while the notched crown, adorned with an "M," adds a refined touch to the design. The large, mushroom-style pushers further enhance the vintage chronograph aesthetic, blending classic and contemporary elements seamlessly.
The dial of the H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Chronograph Compax is a striking Funky Blue fumé with a sunburst pattern, exuding depth and elegance. It features the classic H. Moser & Cie. logo from 1947, a nod to the brand's heritage. The leaf-shaped hour and minute hands are filled with Super-LumiNova® for optimal visibility in low light. The bi-compax layout showcases two snailed subdials: a 60-second counter at 3 o'clock and a 45-minute counter at 9 o'clock. Surrounding the dial is a double tachymeter scale, while the numerals and chronograph graduations are also filled with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring clarity and functionality.
Beneath the transparent case back lies the HMC 220 automatic Manufacture calibre, equipped with a Dubois Dépraz chronograph module. The movement has a diameter of 32.0 mm and a height of 8.4 mm, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. It features 51 jewels and an automatic bi-directional pawl winding system. The oscillating weight is engraved with the H. Moser hallmark, while the power reserve offers a minimum of 3 days. Additionally, the movement includes the original Straumann hairspring and is finished with the signature Moser stripes.
It comes with a hand-stitched brown kudu leather strap, featuring white thread stitching and equipped with a steel pin buckle engraved with the H. Moser & Cie. logo. This limited edition of just 100 pieces is priced at 25,000 CHF, which is equivalent to 106,000 AED.
