News Following Dubai and Geneva, Milan Is Preparing to Launch Its First Watch Exhibition

With the participation of 20 brands, Milano Watch Week starts this October

This fall, a new watch event will launch in Milan, the fashion capital of Italy and one of the world's most influential cities. The event aims to unite watch enthusiasts and major brands, with a special emphasis on independent watchmakers, known for their creativity and innovation.

Away from Geneva, other major cities hosting watch events, such as Dubai Watch Week, the British Watchmaker Event, and SIAR in Mexico, Milan seeks to establish its own tradition of bringing together enthusiasts and professionals, offering watch lovers the chance to appreciate exquisite timepieces.

Milano Watch Week aims to bridge Italian culture and haute horlogerie. From October 4-6, the historic city will host its inaugural event. Italy's rich history with watches and mechanical movements dates back to innovations by figures like Leonardo da Vinci in Florence. Italian watch collectors and brands have long shone in the horological world, as discussed in a previous article on Italian brands. An example of this is the recent Phillips auction in Geneva, where the magnificent collection of Mr. Guido Mondani was offered at the 19th auction.

The 2024 Milano Watch Week will highlight independent watchmaking, blending haute horlogerie with the best of Italian culture. The event will feature experiences, talks, and masterclasses dedicated not only to watches but also to design and other elements Italy is renowned for.

Twenty companies will participate in the first Milano Watch Week. The event will be held at the Terrazza Martini, a breathtaking venue overlooking the famous Duomo and its iconic square, on the 15th and 16th floors.

The participating brands include Andersen Genève, Czapek, De Bethune, Ferdinand Berthoud, Franck Muller, Greubel Forsey, H. Moser & Cie., HYT, Krayon, L’Epee 1839, Ludovic Ballouard, MB&F, Parmigiani Fleurier, Ressence, Reuge, Romain Gauthier, Singer Reimagined, Trilobe, Urwerk, and Vanguart.
