Introducing Carl F. Bucherer returns to more than seventy years with the revival of the Worldtimer watch

Swiss brand Carl F. Bucherer is recognized as a company that manufactures and develops its movements in-house. The brand emphasizes craftsmanship and innovation and has introduced a variety of watch collections since its founding in the 1880s. It has participated in numerous international exhibitions, where it has unveiled several notable timepieces, including the “Tourbillon Double Perpetual Green Paradise” and the “Minute Repeater” from the Manero collection, both presented at "Dubai Watch Week" in the fall of 2023. Carl F. Bucherer is a pioneer in introducing various complications, such as the chronograph, perpetual calendar, tourbillon, and minute repeater, which enhances its position in the luxury watch market.

Now, the brand is launching a new collection that embodies its heritage, the Worldtimer collection, featuring three watches with different dials and cases. These new releases are a revival of the same model originally introduced in the 1950s, paying homage to the brand's rich history while incorporating modern craftsmanship.

The case of this watch measures 39mm in diameter and 10.25mm in height, crafted from 18k rose gold or stainless steel with a brushed and polished finish. It is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, while the case back, made of the same crystal, allows a glimpse of the intricate movement inside. With a water resistance of 30 meters, the most striking feature of this watch’s case is its two crowns, which flank it on either side and allow for the setting of both the current time and world time. The fluted crown at 3 o’clock is used for winding and setting the time, while the crown at 9 o’clock operates the city ring.

The watch is available in two case materials, rose gold and stainless steel, each featuring distinct dial options. The rose gold version comes with a silver sunray dial, while the stainless steel variant offers a choice between a black or silver dial. All dials are designed to display time across 24 time zones simultaneously, with the names of different locations encircling the dial above a rotating 24-hour ring that moves counterclockwise, automatically adjusting the time in each zone. The rose gold dial is enhanced with engraved rose gold-plated hour markers and hands, while the stainless steel dials feature hour markers and hands in silver, with the black dial showcasing silver numerals and the silver dial featuring black numerals.

The watch is powered by the Caliber CFB A2020 automatic movement, which is COSC-certified. A perfect blend of creativity and craftsmanship, this movement features a sophisticated peripheral rotor design that allows for a clear view of the bridges decorated with stunning Cotes de Geneve waves. It is adorned with straight polished edges and circular-grained wheels, enhancing its elegance. This watch operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 55 hours.

The Rose gold watch features a black textile strap and pin buckle and is available as a limited edition of 88 pieces for USD 14,900 (AED 54,700). The steel case, which is part of the permanent line, comes with a black or silver dial. It can be paired with either a textile strap and folding clasp for USD 7,900 (AED 29,000) or a stainless steel bracelet and folding clasp for USD 8,400 (AED 30,660).
