Introducing Bvlgari Unveils The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Green Marble

Featuring an Elegant Verde Alpi Dial and a World-Record-Thin Tourbillon Movement

Following its 2014 debut, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon has served as a platform for Bvlgari ever-greater feats of miniaturization and technical innovation. Over the years, it has been introduced in numerous versions, with different materials and groundbreaking achievements, including, most recently, the world record for the thinnest tourbillon watch, unveiled at Watches and Wonders, measuring just 1.85 mm in thickness.

Now, Bvlgari presents an elegant new edition of the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, featuring a captivating green marble dial.

This isn’t the first time green marble has been featured in the Octo Finissimo collection. In 2023, Bvlgari created a unique version of the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon for Only Watch, crafted entirely from marble, from the dial to the case and bracelet.

The new Octo Finissimo Marble Tourbillon once again demonstrates Bvlgari’s distinctive fusion of Roman heritage and haute horlogerie. The signature Roman stone is paired with the brand’s first world-record-holding movement, the BVL 268 calibre. Housed in a satin-polished 18K yellow gold case, the dial is crafted from natural marble, complete with organic veins that create a one-of-a-kind pattern on each piece.

The 40 mm yellow gold case, just 4.95 mm thick, features a transparent caseback. The polished yellow gold crown is set with a black ceramic insert and ensures water resistance up to 30 meters.

The green marble dial sourced from Italy’s finest quarries, is a nod to Roman architecture and symbolism. Known as “Verde Alpi,” the stone adds a sense of brilliance, durability, and deep Roman character to the timepiece.

While marble is robust in its natural form, it becomes exceptionally fragile when sliced into thin layers. A watch dial is already among the thinnest components in a timepiece, but for the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon, it had to be even slimmer. At just 0.8 mm thick, the marble dial is a stunning testament to Bvlgari’s material expertise, with a precise aperture for the flying tourbillon. Echoing the yellow gold case, the applied indices and openworked hands are gold-plated.

Powering the watch is the ultra-thin BVL 268 calibre, measuring just 1.95 mm in thickness. This manually wound movement, developed and manufactured in-house, features a one-minute flying tourbillon, a 52-hour power reserve, and beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz).

The watch is fitted with a green alligator leather strap and secured with a polished yellow gold pin buckle. It is a limited edition of 30 pieces, priced at EUR 140,500 (approximately AED 604,000).
