Introducing Breguet Releases the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035

A limited edition in proprietary yellow gold, celebrating the brand’s 250th anniversary

From the invention of the tourbillon to pioneering techniques like guilloché and the famed open-tipped hands that still bear its name, Breguet has cultivated a legacy that continues to shape the course of horological design. Today, it remains one of the few brands that held its identity from inception to the present day.

To mark its 250th anniversary, the maison unveils the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035, a limited-edition timepiece crafted from a proprietary Breguet alloy first introduced earlier this year in the Classique Souscription 2025.

The watch features a 38 mm case crafted from 18K Breguet gold, a proprietary yellow gold alloy composed of gold, silver, copper, and palladium. Measuring 12.6 mm thick, the case includes a fluted caseband and a sapphire crystal engraved with the text “BREGUET 250 YEARS.” For optimal visibility, the crystal is treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides.

The dial is off-centered at 12 o’clock in a symphony of blue and gold, combining translucent blue grand feu enamel with a hand-guilloché “Quai de l’Horloge” motif, inspired by the historic heart of Paris where Breguet’s original workshop once stood. Breguet Arabic numerals, a fleur-de-lys minute track, and open-tipped hands in 18K Breguet gold complete the ensemble. The retrograde seconds hand, rendered in blued steel, is positioned between 10 and 11 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the calibre 505SR, an automatic movement comprising 245 components and 38 jewels. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and offers a 50-hour power reserve. Notable features include a crescent moon–shaped platinum rotor with a vertically brushed finish, a nod to Breguet’s historic use of platinum in its perpétuelle automatic watches.

The timepiece is paired with a navy blue alligator leather strap, featuring large scales on the outside and small scales on the inside. It is secured with a matching 18K Breguet gold buckle. Limited to 250 pieces, the watch is priced at CHF 43,000, approximately AED 188,700.
