Limited Edition Showcasing Flyback Chronograph in a Classic Design
The Riviera collection is one of Baume & Mercier's most iconic and enduring lines. First introduced in 1973, the Riviera is instantly recognizable by its distinctive twelve-sided bezel and robust yet stylish design. As a sport-integrated watch, it perfectly captures the spirit of the 1970s. Over the years, the collection has seen a wide range of models, from time-only pieces to chronographs and even a Perpetual Calendar, introduced just last year.
This year, Baume & Mercier adds a new chapter to the chronograph offerings with a striking limited edition. The Riviera Flyback Chronograph 10828 pays tribute to the year the collection was launched 1973 with a production run limited to just 73 pieces. The watch boasts a vintage-inspired dial and flyback functionality, embodying the timeless Riviera aesthetic.
Housed in a 41 mm stainless steel case, the new chronograph retains the signature dodecagonal bezel and angular silhouette of the Riviera. The case measures 14.34 mm in thickness and features a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. Both the front and caseback are protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The caseback is engraved with “Limited Edition One of 73,” underscoring the watch’s exclusivity. At 3 o’clock, the octagonal crown, emblazoned with the Phi logo, is framed by rectangular chronograph pushers. The watch offers a water resistance of 100 meters.
The dial of the Riviera Flyback Chronograph 10828 exudes vintage charm, with a vertically brushed golden finish that evokes a warm, retro feel. It features chronograph, tachymeter, and telemeter scales, along with Roman numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. Rhodium-plated indices with beige Super-LumiNova enhance legibility, while the chronograph hands are blued for a refined contrast.
Powering the watch is the automatic La Joux-Perret 8147 movement, visible through the exhibition caseback. It features a gold-toned rotor, offers a 42-hour power reserve, and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
The watch is paired with an integrated three-row stainless steel bracelet, combining polished and satin-finished links. It includes Baume & Mercier’s tool-free interchangeability system and is secured with a triple folding clasp equipped with safety pushers.
Limited to 73 pieces, the Riviera Flyback Chronograph 10828 is priced at CHF 7,550, approximately AED 33,700.
