A Smoked Blue Grande Tapisserie Dial Adorns the Selfwinding and Chronograph Versions
Audemars Piguet enriches its iconic Royal Oak collection with the introduction of two new white gold references, both featuring the brand’s renowned Grande Tapisserie dial in a smoked blue hue. While the aesthetics are refreshed, the movements powering these models are familiar calibres previously used in other AP releases.
Both timepieces feature a 41 mm white gold case with the instantly recognizable Royal Oak design, complete with a glare-proof sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback. They are water-resistant to 50 meters. The Chronograph version has a slightly thicker case at 12.4 mm, compared to 10.5 mm for the Selfwinding edition.
The new dials showcase a captivating smoked blue finish that darkens towards the perimeter, enhancing the depth of the signature Grande Tapisserie pattern. Both models feature a blue inner bezel; the Selfwinding model displays a seconds and minutes track, while the Chronograph includes a tachymeter scale.

The Chronograph is further distinguished by its trio of blue sub-dials with matching outer rings: a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, and a small seconds at 6 o’clock. The Selfwinding version features a date window at 3 o’clock, while the Chronograph positions the date between 4 and 5 o’clock.
Both watches are equipped with hands and hour markers in 18K white gold, treated with luminescent coating for optimal readability in low-light conditions.
Both models are powered by automatic movements from Audemars Piguet. The Selfwinding version runs on the Caliber 4302, while the Chronograph is equipped with the Caliber 4401, an integrated automatic chronograph movement with a column wheel and flyback function. Both calibers measure 32mm in diameter, though the 4302 is slimmer due to the significant difference in component count between the two movements.
The Chronograph movement features a vertical clutch that prevents hand jitter when starting or stopping the chronograph, while its patented reset mechanism ensures precise repositioning of the hands.
Through the exhibition case back, the 22K pink gold oscillating weight, custom-designed for this collection, is visible, along with the refined finishing applied to the movement components. Both calibers operate at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offer a power reserve of up to 70 hours.
As for the prices, the Chronograph is priced at CHF 71,600, approximately AED 312,150, while the Selfwinding edition is priced at CHF 60,300, approximately AED 263,000.
