The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Atelier de Chronométrie's Newest Marvel: The AdC17 Timepiece

Echoing the Golden Age of Mechanical Watchmaking with Bespoke Craftsmanship

Barcelona's Atelier de Chronométrie's Legacy Continues

Founded on an unwavering commitment to tradition, Atelier de Chronométrie stands as a beacon for who appreciate handcrafted timepieces. Operating from its Barcelona workshop, every watch that comes out of AdC's sanctuary carries with it a unique tale – one that remains singular and unparalleled.

The recently unveiled AdC17 timepiece is no exception. Building upon the rich legacy of its predecessor, the AdC8, the AdC17 exudes charm and precision characteristic of Atelier de Chronométrie's signature craftsmanship.

The AdC17 – A Symphony of Vintage Design & Stellar Mechanics

Measuring a refined 39mm in diameter and 13.3mm in height, this manual split-second chronograph is reminiscent of the revered 1940s aesthetic. Encased in grey gold composed of three distinct parts, its polished concave bezel and teardrop-shaped lugs transport wearers to the past. Enhancing its regality are the rose gold pushers and crown, complete with a specialized pusher for its split-second function.

As your eyes meet the dial, you're greeted by a visual spectacle. Its two-tone rose galvanic background harmoniously blends with applied rose gold Breguet numerals and indices. While its design salutes the vintage, there are delightful modern twists  notably, a tachymeter scale in knots rather than traditional kph/mph. This design innovation, alongside the mysterious blue '52' on its scale, has been specifically requested by its commissioner.

Six meticulously crafted hands grace its face, with the central hour and minute ones bearing a leaf-shape and polished rose gold finish. The engine-turned subdials not only add balance but also bring functionality to the forefront.

Movement: Where Tradition Marries Innovation

Like its forerunner, the AdC17 boasts of a movement based on the vintage Venus calibre. Once disassembled, this Venus 179 ébauche is painstakingly reconstructed, fortified with newly manufactured parts where needed. Each modification is hand-finished and incorporated within AdC's Barcelona workshop.

Components such as the Beryllium copper balance wheel with its 18k rose gold masselottes and the titanium central rattrapante wheel are testaments to AdC's commitment to excellence. The craftsmanship does not end there; gold chatons, gold-plated wheels, and exceptional finishes reflect Haute Horlogerie's time-honored techniques.

Bespoke Brilliance – The AdC Ethos

Every timepiece crafted by Atelier de Chronométrie is a tribute to individuality. While elements from previous creations like the AdC8 might find their way into newer models, there's always a distinctive touch.

Quantifying the value of such bespoke craftsmanship is challenging. However, for those seeking to embrace the AdC17's splendor, the starting price stands at a staggering EUR 150,000. A hefty sum, indeed, but a small price to pay for a singular, handmade timepiece exemplifying some of the world's most exquisite hand-applied Haute Horlogerie finishing.
