A New Benchmark in Timekeeping - Precision Engineered, Visibly Superior
Founded in the late 18th century by John Arnold in London, Arnold & Son boasts a rich heritage in crafting exceptional timepieces. The brand's collection harmoniously merges traditional craftsmanship with innovative design.
Following the success of the DBG and DBS collections, Arnold & Son introduced the DSTB collection in 2015, an abbreviation for "Dead-Beat Seconds True Beat." This collection pays homage to the brand's illustrious history in precision timekeeping. Its hallmark feature is the "True Beat" seconds complication, replacing the conventional continuous seconds hand with a precise, jumping seconds hand. This not only elevates accuracy but also introduces a captivating visual element.

During Geneva Watch Days 2023, Arnold & Son unveiled the redesigned DSTB 42 collection. This release includes two limited series, one in red gold and the other in platinum, The collection reinforces the brand's historical association with marine chronometers.

This collection demonstrates significant improvements compared to its predecessors, with a reduced diameter from 43.5mm to 42mm and a slight decrease in thickness from 13mm to 12.95mm. The case options include 18k (5N) red gold or Pt 950 platinum, both featuring domed sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coatings on both sides, as well as sapphire case backs.

In the red gold version, the DSTB 42 boasts a soothing blue PVD-treated sunbrushed dial, while the platinum version features a sunbrushed rose-gold PVD-treated dial. The true beat mechanism ticks every second with a second hand, driven by three polished gold bridges. Instead of the previous floating sapphire minute track, the dial now showcases a printed minute track. Positioned at 4 o'clock, the white opel dial displays printed Roman numerals and blued arrow hands, with an anchor-shaped counterweight within the escapement at 8 o'clock, paying homage to John Arnold's legacy of supplying marine chronometers to the Royal Navy.

The DSTB 42 comes with a hand-stitched blue alligator leather strap with a pin buckle clasp in either 18k red gold or 950 platinum, depending on the model.

The red gold version is limited to 88 pieces, priced at CHF 42,600, equivalent to AED 180,000, while the platinum edition is limited to 38 pieces, available at CHF 54,400, equivalent to AED 230,000.
