Complication

The term "complication" in watches refers to any additional feature or function that goes beyond the basic timekeeping function. Complications are additional mechanisms or display windows in a watch that provide information or perform functions beyond simply displaying hours, minutes, and seconds. 


Complications can range from simple ones such as displaying the date or day, to more complex ones such as chronographs (stopwatch), moon phase indicators, perpetual calendars, tourbillons, and alarms, And other complications.

Complications often include additional sub-dials, windows, or hands on the watch dial to display the specific information or execute the desired function. They enhance the functionality and versatility of the watch, providing practical or aesthetic value to the wearer. Complications can vary in complexity and can be mechanical or automatic depending on the type of movement used in the watch.
