The Summit Collection: A Strong First Step for New Brand Earthen

Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.

The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

Airain

A French watch brand with a long and rich history of producing high quality timepieces for both military and civilian use. The brand was founded in 1934 by the Dudan family, who were famous watchmakers.Airain was known for its reliable and accurate chronographs, particularly the Type 20 model that was supplied to the French Army and Air Force in the 1950s and 1960s. The Type 20 was a flyback chronograph that met the exacting specifications of a pilot's watch, such as a black dial, luminous hands and numbers, a bidirectional rotating bezel, and a motor with a power reserve of at least 35 hours.

In 2014, the brand was revived by Tom van Wijlek, a Dutch entrepreneur and watch enthusiast who also relaunched the original sister brand of Airain Lebois & Co.

Sir Tom van Wieglake's vision was to give the brand new life by reissuing its legendary models using modern technology and materials, while staying true to the original design and spirit. In 2020, the brand announced its official relaunch with the Type 20 Re-Edition, a replica of the 1950s Type 20 chronograph with a manual-winding motor, domed sapphire crystal, And a stainless steel case.
