A watch embodying Damian Lillard's close passions for basketball and music
Tissot recently unveiled a fresh iteration of its popular PRX sports watch, weaving a narrative inspired by Damian Lillard's journey and persona. Renowned as one of the NBA's most gifted athletes, the American athlete has built a fan base not only for his basketball skills but also for his side hustle as a rapper under the name of Dame D.O.L.L.A. on the music scene. Lillard had already been associated with Tissot as an ambassador. Now, he takes it a step further by curating his own timepiece, blending elements of sports and music, the new Tissot PRX Damian Lillard Special Edition.
Essentially, the new Tissot PRX Damian Lillard closely mirrors last year's fully PVD gold-coated PRX Powermatic 80. The 40mm gold PVD coated stainless steel case maintains a height of 10.9mm and showcases brushed and polished surfaces, and a sleek, polished bezel that encases a sapphire crystal.
The black dial presents a distinctive pattern featuring the number "0”, pays homage to Lillard's jersey number, accompanied by Super-LumiNova treated baton indices and hands, with a date window at 3 o'clock. Additionally, the central seconds hand displays Lillard’s initials as a counterweight, while the flange boasts the inscriptions "DAME" and "TIME" positioned between 10-11 o'clock and 1-2 o’clock. At the lower section of the flange, the letters "DDKK" are prominently featured, symbolizing his family’s initials. Additionally, "YKWTII," situated between the 7 and 8 o'clock, represents “You Know What Time It Is”, referencing to “Dame Time”, those pivotal moments when Lillard enters the basketball court, delivering clutch plays and securing victories.
On the see-through caseback, you can see an image of the player, and through it you can see the Automatic Powermatic 80 caliber, an enhanced version of the ETA 2824, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (4Hz) and offering 80-hour power reserve, ensuring prolonged and reliable performance.
The watch comes with a PVD gold-coated single-link integrated steel bracelet with a triple-blade folding clasp equipped with quick-release spring bars, with a price of CHF 730 which is equivalent to AED 3,050.
