Introducing The Baltic × Tour Auto 2024 Tricompax

Baltic celebrates its second year as the Tour Auto's official timekeeper of Tour Auto rally

The Tour Auto 2024, a renowned road rally also referred to as the Tour de France Automobile, traverses France's open roads and iconic race tracks, including the legendary Le Mans circuit. This marks Baltic's second stint as the official timekeeper for the event, and to commemorate this occasion, the French company Baltic has collaborated once again with Tour Auto 2024 to release a second limited-edition version of the Baltic Tri Compax.

The Tricompax series from Baltic, consisting of chronograph watches, was introduced nearly two years ago. This latest edition, named after the Tour de France Automobile, a prestigious national race inaugurated in 1899 by the Automobile Club de France and currently boasting over 250 participating crews, injects a vibrant burst of color into the collection.

A total of 500 Tricompax timepieces have been meticulously crafted in the historic hues of the Tour Auto, each accompanied by a Rally Timer stopwatch and dash clock.

The Tricompax wrist chronograph, blending classic design with modern execution, maintains its familiar dimensions, measuring 39.5mm in diameter, with a thickness of 13.5mm (including the crystal) and a length of 47mm, evoking a vintage aesthetic on the wrist. It features a double-domed sapphire crystal atop and a caseback engraved with the Tour Auto 2024 logo.

Its brushed and polished case is complemented by a fixed bezel housing an aluminum insert in blue with a subtly gilded tachymeter scale.

The dial has undergone a refresh, reflecting the official colors of the Tour Auto—light blue, dark blue, and red—visible in accents on the snailed sub-dials. The dial's base boasts a charming matte beige tone, accented with bold black rings encircling the counters and stylized Arabic numerals. Surrounding the dial is a minute rail track in black.

The sub-dials at 3 and 6 o'clock track chronograph minutes and hours, respectively, each adorned with hues reminiscent of the historic Tour Auto palette. They also feature small blued dauphine hands matching the central blue chronograph hand, which floats above the polished hour and minute hands, filled with luminescent material. The third sub-dial at 9 o'clock functions as the running seconds and showcases a red crosshair.

The Tricompax houses a hand-wound Sellita SW510-M chronograph movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasting 23 jewels. It boasts a generous power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Each timepiece is accompanied by both a steel flat link bracelet and a navy blue Alcantara strap, all elegantly presented in a custom-made case.

Included within this case is a Rally Timer, featuring two iconic motorsport instruments: a stopwatch and a dash clock. These are affixed to a metal plate, suitable for attachment to the dashboard of a classic race car. The stopwatch is driven by a Hanhart mechanical movement, notable for its flyback complication, enabling instant reset and restart of the chronograph. Its dial mirrors the colors of the Tricompax, with one sub-dial tracking elapsed minutes. Conversely, the dash clock sports a black dial and is powered by a hand-wound Seagull ST3600 movement.

Limited to 500 pieces, the Tri Compax Baltic x Tour Auto 2024 will be available for purchase from April 22, coinciding with the commencement of the Tour Auto. Delivery is slated for mid-May, with a price tag of EUR 2,100, equivalent to AED 8,200.
