A limited edition timepiece to commemorate the brand’s new hotel in paris
In late 2023, Chopard inaugurated its five-star hotel at 1 Place Vendôme in Paris. This 18th-century listed building, originally constructed by Louis XIV’s secretary Pierre Perrin, and after its restoration it regained its splendor as a six-story mansion. To celebrate the opening of the Chopard Hotel, the brand has introduced the Chopard L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One, a special edition watch available exclusively at the brand’s boutique within the hotel.
The L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One features a refined case crafted from ethical 18k yellow gold, combining brushed and polished finishes. The case measures 40mm in diameter and 7.70mm in thickness, offering a sleek profile that sits comfortably on the wrist. A standout feature of this timepiece is the crown-integrated pusher, which opens the hinged cover protecting the exhibition caseback. This cover is decorated with a hand-guilloché honeycomb motif on the outside and a hand-engraved Sun on the inside, a symbol linked to Louis XIV.
The dial is crafted from gold with a striking Bering blue hue, providing a captivating backdrop for the central hand-guilloché honeycomb pattern. This intricate pattern adds depth and texture, catching the light beautifully. The snailed small seconds and gilded Dauphine hands further enhance the dial's sophisticated look, while the date window at the 6 o'clock position adds to the watch's functionality.
At the heart of the watch beats the calibre L.U.C 96.01-L, an in-house COSC-certified movement that bears the prestigious Poinçon de Genève. This automatic movement features a micro-rotor and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Additionally, the twin barrels provide a power reserve of 65 hours.
