Introducing Doxa Launches the SUB 300T Aristera Professional

Diving watches have always been associated with precision and durability. One of the most renowned Swiss companies in manufacturing these watches is Doxa, which introduces a new edition of the 'SUB 300T Aristera' with an innovative touch, specifically designed for professional divers who use their left hand. The SUB 300T is considered an iconic diving watch, and the company has celebrated it with numerous special editions, the latest being the 'SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler' special edition.

This limited-edition watch marks a significant milestone in DOXA’s storied history as the first model designed with the crown on the left side of the case, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer wearing their watch on the right wrist. As CEO Jan Edocs explained to us during our interview with him in Geneva Watch Days, the word "Aristera" means ‘left’ in Greek, and the SUB 300T Aristera is a thoughtful adaptation of one of the most iconic models in diving history. Originally launched in 1968, the SUB 300T series became renowned for its vibrant orange dial.

A left-side crown offers practical benefits for divers. When worn traditionally on the left wrist, this design better protects the crown from accidental impacts underwater, where it is most vulnerable, ensuring the watch maintains its integrity under the harshest conditions.

The SUB 300T Aristera retains the hallmark features that made this diver's watch instantly recognizable, including the iconic orange dial, the cushion-shaped case, and the patented bezel with two separate scales. Measuring 42.50 mm in diameter and 14 mm in thickness, the case of the new model is crafted from 316L stainless steel and is water-resistant to 1,200 meters. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal, and the caseback is screwed down in stainless steel.

In addition to the unidirectional rotating bezel used for calculating and monitoring no-decompression dive times, the SUB 300T Aristera also features a helium release valve.

The dial, presented in DOXA's signature "Professional Orange," offers excellent readability, with large minute and smaller hour hands to enhance underwater legibility. Notably, DOXA has expanded the use of its famous emerald green dial, first introduced in the 200T models, across almost all of its watches.

The indices and hands, including the central seconds hand, are treated with a Super-LumiNova coating, ensuring visibility even in low-light conditions. Although the crown has moved to the 9 o’clock position, the date window on the SUB 300T Professional Aristera remains at 3 o'clock. To achieve this, the movement had to be rotated 180 degrees inside the case, necessitating several technical adjustments.

The Aristera is powered by a Swiss automatic movement, Sellita SW200-1 delivering a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and a beat frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Alongside this unique movement rotation, DOXA has also added custom decorations.

The watch is delivered with both the renowned 'beads of rice' stainless steel bracelet, fitted with a folding clasp and wetsuit extension, and a practical NATO strap featuring a 316L stainless steel buckle.

The DOXA SUB 300T Professional Aristera is a limited edition of 300 pieces, priced at EUR 2,490, which is equivalent to AED 9,950.
