A limited edition watch crafted to honor the offshore sailor Oliver Heer
Delma's Oceanmaster collection was launched in 2017, emerging from the brand's partnership with the International Monohull Open Class Association (IMOCA) as the Official Timekeeper of the Transat New York Vendée sailing race. The endurance, precision, and tactical expertise required in sailing have continuously shaped the Oceanmaster series, designed to meet the rigorous demands of competitive sailors and adventurers alike.
Since its debut, the collection has expanded with various releases, showcasing Delma’s ongoing commitment to innovation in sailing watches. Now, Delma is unveiling the Oceanmaster Oliver Heer Ocean Racing, a limited edition watch crafted to honor accomplished offshore sailor Oliver Heer, who is on track to become the first Swiss-German to qualify for the prestigious Vendée Globe in 2024, a solo, non-stop circumnavigation of the globe.
The watch features a stainless steel case with a unidirectional nautical bezel, topped with a sapphire crystal that has an anti-reflective coating for enhanced clarity. The case measures 44 mm in diameter, 13.8 mm in thickness, and weighs 130 grams. With a water resistance of 500 meters and a helium escape valve positioned at 9 o’clock, it is built to withstand the rigorous challenges of ocean exploration. The stainless steel case back is engraved with a special tribute to Oliver Heer, commemorating his remarkable journey as an offshore sailor.
The standout feature of the watch is its fully lumed white dial, which emits a captivating blue glow, while the hands and indices glow green to ensure optimal visibility in low-light conditions. The dial includes a striking red seconds hand and a date window at 6 o'clock. Additionally, a red and blue rectangular marker at the top of the dial and a triangular marker at the bottom serve as points of sail indicators or “Points of sail”, designed to be used in conjunction with the nautical bezel to assist in guiding the boat during navigation.
The watch is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, offering 28,800 vph and a 41-hour power reserve. It comes with a stainless steel bracelet, secured by a deployment clasp. The watch is limited to 200 pieces, and priced at CHF 1,414, equivalent to AED 6,000.
