The Elegant Chronograph Watch Now in White and Yellow Gold
De Bethune first unveiled the DB Eight at Watches & Wonders 2023, a classical monopusher chronograph inspired by the DB1, which was one of the first watches introduced when the brand launched its inaugural collection in 2002. We discussed the company’s distinctive journey and its most important milestones in this article.
The DB Eight collection embodies Denis Flageollet’s vision for a chronograph in the 21st century and represents an evolution in De Bethune’s exploration of the mono-pusher chronograph.
Now, De Bethune introduces two new iterations of the DB Eight, the manufacture’s mono-pusher chronograph featuring an instantaneous minute counter at 6 o’clock. The new models include one with a polished white gold case and a royal blue dial, and another in yellow gold with a brown chocolate dial. Last year’s edition featured a titanium case with a white dial.

The De Bethune DB Eight comes with a case measuring 42.2 mm in diameter and 9.2 mm in thickness. Cased in 18K white or yellow gold, it features cone-shaped lugs, which the company calls ogival. The sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating covers the case on both sides, providing 30 meters of water resistance. The De Bethune DB Eight features a mono-pusher button integrated into the crown for the chronograph start, stop, and reset functions.

The watch comes in two colors: a royal blue dial and a brown chocolate dial. The dials feature a smooth perimeter with Arabic numerals and a radiating guilloché center with 12 sectors. The subdial at 6 o’clock is the instantaneous 60-minute counter for this mono-pusher chronograph. The center of this subdial features a barley grain hand guilloché.
Colors for the numerals reflect the case metals, and the hands are in titanium for both watches, the yellow gold model’s hands get a golden yellow treatment.
In contrast to the highly classical face of the watch, the movement is a highly complicated hand-wound caliber, beating at 28,000 vph, with a chronograph function and a 60-hour power reserve. Developed by Flageollet, the traditional column-wheel mechanism is equipped with an instantaneous minutes counter—a feat for a single-pusher caliber with a 60-minute counter. The DB3000 caliber benefits from De Bethune’s patented flat balance spring with a terminal curve and its patented titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts. It also features an anti-magnetic silicon escape wheel. The 30mm DB3000 is hand-finished throughout, with beveled and polished steel parts and hand-snailed barrel.
The Royal Blue model is delivered on a matching dark blue alligator strap with an 18K white gold pin buckle. Meanwhile, the Chocolate Brown dial model is delivered with a chocolate brown alligator strap with an 18K yellow gold pin buckle.
