Editorial Breitling Navitimer: The Watch That Does More Than Tell Time
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A Limited Edition with Hand-Painted Purple Dial
Since its revival in 2012, "Czapek" has returned to the world of luxury watchmaking, blending its rich history with a modern vision and presenting a wide range of timepieces. Among the most notable collections is the "Antarctique" collection, launched in 2020, which includes several classic models such as the "Antarctique GMT Milano Edition", released in collaboration with the official Italian distributor of the "Czapek" brand. Today, we are showcasing the latest addition to this leading collection, the "Antarctique Purple Storm", which was unveiled for the first time at the third-anniversary celebration of the Horology Club, founded by Johnathan Chan. This exclusive gathering for luxury watch enthusiasts focuses on educating about the techniques of watchmaking and organizing special events and exhibitions of rare timepieces. The event took place in Hong Kong on November 20, 2024, marking another milestone in the brand's legacy, and further cementing the uniqueness and beauty that defines this prestigious name in horology.
The watch comes with a sleek 40.5mm stainless steel case with a combination of brushed finishes and a polished bezel. The case's dimensions, with a height of just 10.6mm, provide a balanced and comfortable fit. The dial is topped with a box-shaped sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective (AR) coating to ensure optimal legibility. The caseback is made of sapphire crystal, framed by a stainless steel bezel secured by four screws, offering a glimpse into the movement. A fluted, screw-down crown, protected by guards, offers 120 meters water resistance, making it suitable for a variety of activities.
The Antarctique purple storm is distinguished by its unique, hand-varnished dial, crafted by the renowned Swiss dial specialist Metalem. This striking dial showcases a vivid purple gradient, which is applied meticulously by hand, creating a mesmerizing swirl of purple tones that change with the light. Each dial is a one-of-a-kind piece, with layered shades of purple that evoke the beauty and dynamism of nature. The sword-shaped hours and minutes hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring optimal legibility in low-light conditions.
The watch is powered by the Czapek SXH5.01 automatic caliber, the brand’s first movement entirely conceived in-house from the ground up. The SXH5 features seven skeletonized bridges that provide an exceptional view of the movement's intricate mechanics. At the heart of the movement is a free-sprung balance wheel, regulated by four gold-adjustable weights, ensuring superior precision and stability in timekeeping. The micro-rotor, made of 950 platinum, is elegantly placed off-center, offering a striking visual while optimizing efficiency. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the SXH5 delivers a 60-hour power reserve, making it as reliable as it is captivating in design.
It comes with a stainless steel integrated bracelet with a folding clasp, along with a rubber strap or a purple leather strap. This watch is a limited edition of 18 pieces, priced at CHF 25,000, approximately equivalent to AED 104,000.
