Editorial Breitling Navitimer: The Watch That Does More Than Tell Time

An elegant addition to the brand’s famous collection with a beautiful aventurine dial
Czapek's Antarctique collection has made a bold statement in the luxury sports watch category with its integrated bracelet design, distinguishing itself among high-end timepieces. Over the years, Czapek has introduced captivating variants, from the elegant Royal Onyx to the first gold edition and a striking model with a green lacquer meteorite dial. This year, during Geneva Watch Days, Czapek is set to release Antarctique Polar Sky and Flying Diamonds Editions, four new watches featuring mesmerizing aventurine dials, with an additional option adorned with diamond indexes.
The case is available in two sizes: a 40.5mm steel option or a more compact 38.5mm version. It features a height of 10.6mm and is equipped with a sapphire crystal glass-box that has an anti-reflective treatment. The case back is made of sapphire, and the crown is screwed-down, providing water resistance up to 120 meters.
All four versions feature the same aventurine dial, but the "Polar Sky" refers to models with standard indices, while the "Flying Diamonds" variant showcases diamond hour markers. Czapek envisioned elongated trapeze-shaped diamonds to be invisibly set into the dial, posing a significant challenge for their dial-making partner, GT Cadrans. To achieve this intricate design, GT Cadrans had to develop a special setting technique for each of the 13 diamonds on the Flying Diamonds models. Additionally, the case and bracelet can also be set with diamonds.
The watch is powered by the SXH5 caliber, an in-house, automatic movement featuring a Swiss lever escapement and a variable-inertia balance wheel. It offers a power reserve of 60 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).
The watch features an integrated steel bracelet with an interchangeable system, allowing for a quick switch to an additional rubber or leather strap. The Antarctique Polar Sky is available in a 40.5mm size without diamonds, limited to 99 pieces and priced at CHF 26,000/AED 113,000. The Antarctique S Polar Sky comes in a smaller 38.5mm version, also without diamonds, limited to 77 pieces, priced at CHF 26,000/AED 113,000. The Antarctique Flying Diamonds, featuring diamond indexes with an optional diamond-set case and bracelet, is available in a 40.5mm size, limited to just 8 pieces and priced at CHF 42,800/AED 186,500. The Antarctique S Flying Diamonds, with similar features, comes in a 38.5mm size, limited to 18 pieces and priced at CHF 38,000/AED 165,500.
