Titanium case featuring an openworked dial with purple accents
Founded in 2010 by the Richard family, Cyrus is known for its watches featuring signature elements such as dual crowns and unique complications. As an independent company, the brand takes pride in its in-house movements, crafted by watchmaker Jean-François Mojon. Cyrus has released several collections, including the Dice collection, “Double Independent Chronograph” watch which showcased a unique dual chronograph complication. Today, the brand has unveiled its latest addition to the Klepcys GMT collection: the Royal Purple watch.
The distinctive cushion-shaped case, measuring 42mm in diameter and 13.9mm thick, is crafted from polished grade 5 titanium, known for its hypoallergenic properties and lightweight nature. Notable features include two functional crowns, each engraved with the brand’s logo and surrounded by a grey rubber ring. The crown at 3 o’clock is used to wind the movement and set both the main time and a second time zone (GMT), while the crown pusher at 9 o’clock advances the local time by one hour with each press. The dial and movement are protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, secured by a three-dimensional bezel on the face of the watch and a four-screw bezel on the case back. and it's water resistant up to 100 m.
Featuring a distinctive 3D open worked dial, this watch embodies the brand’s signature design. It showcases palm tree bridges in royal purple, achieved through an advanced atomic layer deposition (ALD), a process that enhances durability, along with intricate details in circular finishes. The movement components are visible through the dial, which features a multi-layered construction that includes an anti-reflective sapphire crystal disc with SuperLumiNova-coated Arabic numerals. The edges are adorned with a minute track coated in charcoal grey SuperLumiNova, while the center features a 24-hour dual time zone complication, with a matte opaline grey arc and a retrograde hand with luminescent markers. At 6 o’clock, a decorative small seconds subdial displays a hand in the shape of the CYRUS logo, which is also coated with luminescent material at its tip.
The watch is powered by a self-winding movement manufactured by expert watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, the CYR708 caliber. This sophisticated mechanism features 278 components, including 41 jewels, and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), providing a power reserve of 55 hours from a single winding barrel. The movement is visible through the transparent case back, which reveals an anthracite-colored NAC-treated surface adorned with a sunray pattern and hand-beveled edges. The royal purple rotor, featuring the Cyrus logo, adds a touch of luxury.
This limited edition watch is available on a grade 5 titanium bracelet with a folding clasp for CHF 24,000 (AED 105,600), a purple alligator strap with a titanium folding clasp engraved with the Cyrus logo for CHF 23,350 (AED 102,740), or a grey Cordura strap with purple stitching and a titanium folding clasp engraved with the Cyrus logo for CHF 22,650 (AED 99,660).
