Celebrating 65 years of the iconic Asterix legacy
The history of Chronofixe dates back to 1857, when the company was founded in La Rasse, a region nestled in the heart of the Doubs gorges, near the Swiss border. In its early years, the brand became renowned for its craftsmanship, with one of its key achievements being the development of the altimeter chronograph.
By the early 1950s, the Chronofixe manufacture was at the forefront of military watchmaking, becoming the only French watchmaker certified to produce these high-tech instruments for the French Air Force. In collaboration with the French Ministry of Defense, the company developed the iconic Type 20 chronograph, a robust and flight-ready timepiece that met the rigorous demands of aviation. This chronograph was issued to French Air Force pilots and remained the property of the French government. Its design, featuring outstanding durability and precision, laid the foundation for future civilian interest. In its latest releases, Chronofixe continues to specialize in technically advanced watches, announcing the "ASTÉRIX" watch in collaboration with Romaric André, celebrating Asterix’s 65-year legacy.
The case of the watch is crafted from durable 316L stainless steel, with a diameter of 37mm, a thickness of 12.80mm, and a lug-to-lug measurement of 46mm. The watch is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, ensuring the dial remains pristine over time. On the solid stainless steel case back, the unmistakable face of Asterix is engraved, adding a unique touch. With a water resistance of 200 meters, the watch is ready for various environments, while the unidirectional black bezel with 60 clicks provides precise timing capabilities, making it both functional and stylish.

The dial features a stunning matte black finish, with luminous Roman numerals and hands for easy reading in low light. At 7 o’clock, a whimsical illustration of Asterix punching the Roman numeral VIII adds a touch of humor and character to the design. Created in collaboration with Romaric André, the dial showcases a playful Art Deco flair that complements the overall look of the watch. The date window at 3 o’clock is also showing Roman numerals, further enhancing the watch’s unique and detailed aesthetic.
The watch is powered by the Seiko automatic movement, caliber NH35, which operates at 21,600 vph (3Hz) for precise timekeeping and offers a power reserve of 41 hours.
It comes with a black leather strap and stainless steel pin buckle. This watch is a limited edition to 500 pieces, and priced at EUR 395 approximately AED 1,580.
