Taking the pilot's watch design to another level with this limited edition
Bremont, a distinguished British luxury watch manufacturer, is renowned for its aviation-themed timepieces, showcasing a commitment to craftsmanship and durability. Established in 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English, the brand's passion for aviation and mechanics was profoundly shaped by their father, Dr. Euan English, a former Royal Air Force pilot. A tragic plane crash in 1995 claimed their father's life and left Nick severely injured. This heartbreaking event played a pivotal role in the brothers' decision to create aviation-inspired timepieces as a tribute to their father's legacy.
In 2009, the collaborative Bremont MBI collection was introduced in partnership with Martin-Baker, a British aviation company one of the biggest supplier of the fighter ejection seat technology. This collection is exclusively dedicated to pilots who have ejected from an aircraft using a Martin-Baker seat, distinguishing it from the more widely available MBII and MBIII models. The MB Range, a coveted choice for serious collectors, undergoes the same rigorous testing as Martin-Baker's ejection seats, emphasizing the collaboration's commitment beyond merely featuring a logo on an existing model.
The new Bremont MBIII Stealth is crafted as an aviation timepiece, exemplifying Bremont's dedication to creating watches that match the robustness and precision. The 43mm diameter stainless steel case, treated with DLC, adheres to Bremont's Trip-Tick design philosophy. It showcases a jet-black aluminum barrel with p and a DLC-treated stainless steel caseback, featuring an exhibition crystal.
Measuring at a thickness of 15.5mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 50mm, the MBIII Stealth incorporates essential features found in the MB series. These include a soft iron Faraday inner ring to mitigate magnetic fields and an elastomer anti-shock dampener. The bi-directional Roto Click 24-hour inner flange, manipulated by the crown at 2 o'clock, adds functionality. Meanwhile, the crown at 4 o'clock manages setting and winding functions, both designed with a knurled surface for a secure grip and adorned with the top logo for a distinctive touch.
The black metal dial of the timepiece guarantees optimal visibility, boasting bright white printed Arabic numerals and indices treated with Super-LumiNova. For hours and minutes, sword and GMT hands are employed, complemented by a red-tipped seconds hand. Notably, the second hand embodies the distinctive Martin-Baker design, featuring a counterweight adorned with yellow and black stripes resembling an "ejection seat pull." Adding practicality, a small date window is positioned at 3 o'clock, contributing to an overall aesthetic reminiscent of a flight instrument. Additionally, the dial's flange incorporates a 24-hour scale dedicated to the GMT function.
The caseback showcases a smoked display crystal that provides a shaded perspective of the shock-mounted GMT movement. This modified iteration is based on Bremont’s BE-93-2AE automatic chronometer, ISO 3159 certified, boasting a 50-hour power reserve and featuring a Bremont-molded, skeletonized, and adorned rotor.
The watch comes with Black rubber strap and features a DLC pin buckle.
The Bremont MBIII Stealth is a limited edition to 50 pieces, priced at GBP 4,750 which is equivalent to 22,000 AED.
