A new Terra Nova collection inspired by military pocket watches, and redesigned Supermarine 300M line
Bremont is a British watchmaker established in 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English. The brand is known for crafting mechanical watches, often with designs inspired by aviation. During Watches and Wonders 2024, Bremont redesigned the "Terra Nova" collection and introduced four watches that draw inspiration from early 20th-century military pocket watches, and a completely redesigned Bremont Supermarine 300M line.
The brand is currently led by CEO Davide Cerrato, a former Tudor executive, and the new additions are seen as his first big test. The new lineup includes a simple time-only model, a watch with both time and date functions, a chronograph, and a compass bezel with a power reserve indicator.
All four watches from the new Terra Nova collection feature a cushion-shaped stainless steel case and a solid caseback adorned with a map of the globe. The sizable push-in crown bears the brand's new Wayfinder compass rose emblem. Visibility is improved with the use of 3D Super-LumiNova block numerals on the dial. Each model has a dial with a separate railroad minutes track, and applied 3D Super-LumiNova indices. The Bremont Supermarine 300M is available in both date and non-date configurations. The non-date option comes in blue or green, while the date variant is offered in black or brown. The brown dial model features a two-tone case made of rose gold and steel.
Let's start with the simplest models in the collection: the Terra Nova 38, featuring a time-only display, and the Terra Nova 40.5 Date, which displays both time and date. Both watches have two-piece stainless steel cases, with the time-only version measuring 38mm in diameter and 10.7mm in thickness, while the time-and-date model is slightly larger at 40.5mm in diameter and 11.11mm in thickness. The cases combine brushed and polished finishes on the midsection, bezel, and crown.
A domed, anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, which is available in anthracite or white for the time-only model, and in anthracite or green for the time-and-date version. Each dial is adorned with Arabic numerals made from beige Super-LumiNova blocks. The pencil-style hour and minute hands, along with the 3D dot and triangle indices marking each hour on the railroad minutes track, are also filled with Super-LumiNova. The dial displays the words "Bremont," "Terra Nova," "Automatic," and "London" in contrasting colors, with the new Wayfinder compass rose symbol at the 12 o'clock position. The time-and-date model also features a date window at the 3 o’clock position.
Both watches are powered by the automatic calibre BE-36AE, which runs at 28,800vph and provides a 38-hour power reserve. The models come with a quick-release stainless steel bracelet, priced at EUR 3,300 (equivalent to AED 13,000), or a leather strap priced at EUR 3,000 (equivalent to AED 11,850) for the time-only version. The time-and-date version comes with a stainless steel bracelet priced at EUR 3,550 (AED 14,000), while the NATO and leather straps are priced at EUR 3,250 (AED 12,800).
Moving on to the more intricate models in the collection. The Terra Nova 40.5 Turning Bezel Power Reserve is a stainless steel watch with a 40.5mm diameter and an 11.91mm thickness. This model distinguishes itself with a notched, bi-directional rotating compass bezel engraved with cardinal points.
The dial, available in anthracite or blue, showcases 3D Super-LumiNova numerals and indices. What sets it apart from the simpler models is a snailed small seconds sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position and a curved power reserve indicator at 6 o'clock. Additionally, there's a date window at 3 o'clock, with a dark background on the anthracite dial and a white background on the blue dial.
The watch uses the automatic caliber BE-79AL, running at 28,800vph and providing a 41-hour power reserve. The Terra Nova 40.5 Turning Bezel Power Reserve offers three strap options: an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet priced at EUR 4,450 (AED 17,600), a black or brown nubuck leather strap, and a NATO strap, both priced at EUR 4,150 (AED 16,400).
The most intricate model in the collection is the Terra Nova Chronograph. Similar to the Terra Nova Turning Bezel variant, the chronograph's bezel is engraved with cardinal directions. The case has a diameter of 42.5mm and a thickness of 14.8mm. The Terra Nova Chronograph comes exclusively with a black dial featuring two sub-dials: a 30-minute chronograph at 3 o'clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The hands are similar to those in other models, with a gold-plated central chronograph seconds hand for contrast. There's also a date window at the 6 o'clock position.
The watch is powered by the calibre BE-50AV, operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offering the longest power reserve among the other models, with 56 hours. It comes with a quick-release stainless steel bracelet priced at (EUR 5,950/AED 23,400), a brown leather and a NATO strap (EUR 5,650 / AED 22,300).
The new Supermarine 300M features a redesigned 40mm stainless steel case. The case design has a more conventional appearance compared to the original, with lugs that abandon the sweeping curves of the earlier Supermarine and merge into a midsection that bulges slightly on the sides.
Instead of ceramic bezels, the new models use anodized aluminum inserts. The bezel matches the dial color and includes a single lume pip at 12 o'clock. The watches are water-resistant to 300 meters, as suggested by the name. As we mentioned, the new Bremont Supermarine 300M is available in blue or green, while the date variant is offered in black or brown. The brown dial model features a two-tone case made of rose gold and steel.
All dials feature applied indices filled with Super-LumiNova, paired with sword-shaped hands. On the date models, the indices are round, with baton indexes. In the non-date models, the indices are the same baton indexes, but with Arabic numerals at the cardinal positions. The watches are powered by an automatic movement with 50 hours power reserve. The Bremont Supermarine 300M price starts from (EUR 3,200/AED 12,600) on the straps to (EUR 5,850/AED 23,000) on the bracelet.
