A compact chronograph embodying the brand's pursuit of elegance and practicality
Brellum, the Swiss independent brand, specializes in creating high-quality, limited-production mechanical watches with a strong emphasis on precision. The brand is particularly celebrated for its COSC-certified chronometers, which ensure accuracy and reliability. Each Brellum timepiece exemplifies Swiss craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
While most of the brand’s watches are 42mm and above, as seen in the Brellum Pandial Bicompax Black DLC Ti Chronometer, full-size chronographs can often feel too large. Some collectors prefer a smaller size while retaining the chronograph function. For its latest 2024 release, Brellum has introduced a new, more compact chronograph collection. The Brellum Duobox 39 Chronometer takes the fundamental concept of its signature Duobox series and reinterprets it in a sub-40mm package. This year, the Swiss company has added a fourth color, a pink dial in a limited-edition run.
The new model features a 39.50mm case, a 39mm bezel, and a 48mm lug-to-lug length, ensuring a more compact and wearable design. The stainless steel case of the Duobox 39 Chronometer showcases a polished and satin-finished surface, enhancing its visual appeal.
The case is equipped with domed sapphire crystals, contributing to a case-only thickness of 11.05mm and an overall thickness of 15.30mm. The sapphire crystals feature anti-reflective coatings on both the dial and movement sides. The case offers 100 meters of water resistance. Its caseback is secured by six small screws, while a signed crown and pump-style chronograph pushers are positioned on the right-hand side of the case.
The dial is the standout element of this watch, a Pink Mother-of-Pearl multi-level dial, featuring diamond-cut indices and hands, all coated with Super-LumiNova. The tricompax chronograph layout includes a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, both featuring silver chapter rings, while the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock is printed.
A rectangular date window is neatly positioned within the recessed sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Printed along the outer perimeter of the Brellum Duobox 39 Chronometer’s dial is a pulsations scale.
Powering the watch is the Brellum BR-110 caliber, an automatic movement based on the renowned Lajoux-Perret Caliber L110. It is operated by a blued column wheel, ensuring precision and smooth chronograph operation. The movement offers a 60-hour power reserve. As with all Brellum watches, the BR-110 is officially COSC-certified, guaranteeing high accuracy.
The gold-plated rotor is individually numbered from 01/17 to 17/17, marking its exclusivity as a limited-edition timepiece.
The watch comes with two leather straps in white and black, featuring a steel deployment buckle, or the option of a new stainless steel bracelet—both of which are included with your purchase. This limited edition is restricted to just 17 pieces, priced at CHF 3,190, which is approximately 12,850 AED.
