Paying tribute to Italian cycling legends Fausto Coppi & Gino Bartali
Breitling’s Top Time collection was born in the 1960s, a bold response to an era driven by speed, rebellion, and individuality. Originally envisioned by Willy Breitling, the grandson of the brand founder Léon Breitling, as a racing chronograph for both men and women, the collection quickly became a fan favorite.
After releasing three additions to the Top Time collection earlier this year, Breitling is expanding it once more with two limited editions that celebrate one of sport’s most iconic rivalries: Italian cycling legends Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali.
Both models share a 41 mm stainless steel case with a cambered sapphire crystal that’s glare-proofed on both sides. The case is 13.3 mm thick and measures 50.4 mm from lug to lug. It features a non–screw-locked crown with two gaskets and offers 100 meters of water resistance. The transparent caseback is engraved with either “Fausto Coppi Tribute” or “Gino Bartali Tribute.”
The Fausto Coppi variant features a white dial accented by turquoise “squircle” subdials, a shape that’s not quite square, not quite round. The orange, lightning-shaped chronograph seconds hand evokes the frame color of Coppi’s famous Bianchi bike. A subtle set of brushed lines flows through the subdials, symbolizing Coppi and Bartali riding side by side, even in rivalry. His nickname graces the tachymeter scale, while his signature rests proudly at 6 o’clock.
Gino Bartali’s edition channels a rich blue dial contrasted with white subdials and yellow highlights, echoing the jersey of “L’Intramontabile”, the timeless one. Like its counterpart, it features the same subdial pattern and a personal signature at 6 o’clock.
Powering both editions is the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, an automatic chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch, offering 1/4th-second precision. The movement beats at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a 70-hour power reserve.
Each watch comes with a racing-themed calfskin leather strap, turquoise for Coppi, blue for Bartali, secured with a folding clasp. Alternatively, a stainless steel mesh bracelet with a butterfly clasp offers a sleeker, more contemporary look.

Both watches are limited to just 750 pieces per variant and are priced at €7,800, approximately AED 32,600 on leather strap, or €8,200, approximately AED 34,300 on the mesh bracelet.
