A limited edition timepieces with a new elegant green dial
Blancpain is one of the oldest watchmakers, with roots tracing back to 1735 when it was founded in Switzerland. The brand offers a wide range of timepieces distinguished by their innovative yet classic designs, with collections that highlight sports, aviation, and dress watches. One of its most popular collections is the "Air Command," a chronograph watch originally dedicated to U.S. Air Force pilots. Now, Blancpain introduces the latest additions to this collection, the "Air Command Chronograph Green," available in two new sizes with a green dial.
The watch is crafted from polished and brushed Grade 23 titanium, similar to Grade 5 titanium, but made from a mixture of titanium, vanadium, and aluminum. This composition provides it with very high tensile and yield strength, while reducing ductility and weldability. The watches are available in two sizes: 42.5 mm (13.7 mm thick) and 36.2 mm (11.5 mm thick). Each model features a bi-directional countdown bezel made of titanium with a black ceramic insert. The luminous numerals and indices, are enhanced by Super-LumiNova, are arranged counterclockwise. Both watches are protected by sapphire crystals on the front and back of the case, ensuring durability and legibility. The chronograph pushers are positioned at 2 and 4 o’clock, flanking a notched crown.

The dial showcases a green hue, enhanced by patina-toned luminescent accents and a tachymeter scale that surrounds the dial. At 3 o'clock, a subdial indicates a 30-minute chronograph, while the 9 o'clock subdial features a 12-hour chronograph. The minute and second track are elegantly printed along the outer edge, and the hour, minute, and second hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility. All elements, including indices, prints, and inserts, exhibit a beautiful patina finish.

The 42.5 mm variant is powered by the F388B calibre, a high-frequency automatic fly back chronograph that beats at 36,000 vph (5 Hz), and offers 50 hours of power reserve. It features a column wheel mechanism with a vertical clutch, and is highlighted by a unique fan-shaped rotor. In contrast, the smaller 36.2 mm watch utilizes the F188B calibre, a flyback chronograph with a column wheel function that beats at 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 40 hours, also featuring a fan-shaped rotor. Both movements are equipped with a silicon balance spring, enhancing their performance and resistance to magnetic fields.
Both watches come on a green leather strap with a folding clasp. The larger model is limited to 200 pieces and is priced at CHF 20,100 / AED 88,450, while the smaller model is limited to 100 pieces and priced at CHF 18,900/AED 83,150.
