Two elegant releases from the new Master series in titanium and platinum
Behrens is an independent watch brand founded by a group of watch enthusiasts. The brand strives to create innovative and unique watches that blend mechanical passion and creativity. Behrens will also be participating in the upcoming Geneva Watch Days, and we are thrilled to see what Behrens and the other brands have under their sleeves.
The brand is now releasing the "Kung Fu," the first watch from the new Behrens Master series, in collaboration with Qian Guobiao, an independent watchmaker from China, who specializes in grand complications. The new Kung Fu watch is inspired by Chinese martial arts, integrating the spiritual essence and techniques of ancient Chinese military training into the precise craft of watchmaking.
The watch measures 39.5mm in diameter, available in a limited edition of 90 pieces in titanium or a limited edition of 9 pieces in platinum. It features a domed box-style sapphire crystal on the front and a sapphire crystal on the caseback.
The sub-dial for the hours and minutes is positioned between 12 and 3 o'clock, featuring polished numerals and indexes. Within this sub-dial, at 6 o’clock, there is a small red inscription marking Qian GuoBiao’s signature. A power reserve indicator is located at 11 o'clock, with a polished hand and five dots that graduate in size to indicate the remaining power reserve.
The watch dial's design is inspired by the Qin Dynasty, China's first unified state, which centralized power and significantly influenced the next two thousand years of Chinese history. The shapes are inspired by prismatic arrowheads from crossbow bolts of that era, a design mirrored in the hands and the long arrow connected to the balance wheel below, which serves as a regulating mechanism that increases the calibration accuracy.
The watch is powered by the brand’s' new in-house hand-wound movement calibre BM03. Both variants come with a gray crocodile skin strap. The titanium edition is priced at USD 17,700, equivalent to AED 65,000, while the platinum edition is priced at USD 28,500, equivalent to AED 105,000.
