The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing Beda’a Continues Its Creative Journey with the Unveiling of the Eclipse II

The Qatari Brand Opens a New Chapter for This Iconic Design

Beda'a was born from the vision of Qatari entrepreneur Hader Al Suwaidi, who aimed to establish a horological brand that positions the Arab region not just as a market for fine watches but as a contributor to the global watchmaking industry. Serendipity played a role in turning this vision into reality with the recruitment of engineer-designer Sohaib Maghnam, who helped shape the brand's trajectory.

Last year, Beda'a embarked on a new strategic journey by launching a refreshed identity, starting with three stunning timepieces. Among this trio was the Eclipse, a unique design that gained significant recognition by earning a nomination from the GPHG jury in the “Petite Aiguille” category. Building on this success, Beda'a has now unveiled the Eclipse II, a new creation that retains the essence of its predecessor while offering an evolved design.

Eclipse stands as the most elemental of Beda'a's creations, being the only round watch in the brand's portfolio. It is also the most ambitious, as it ventures into the fiercely competitive realm of fine Swiss-made watchmaking. Yet, it succeeds in capturing two key elements that hold compelling appeal for true collectors: an unconventional hours-and-minutes display and a price that remains uncompromisingly fair.

The case, crafted from 904L stainless steel, measures 37mm in diameter and 9.55mm in height, presenting a sleek and robust design. The crown is positioned at 12 o'clock, while the case finishing features a mix of polished surfaces on the bezel and lugs and brushed case bands. Its sapphire crystal case back reveals the intricate inner workings of the Swiss movement within. With a water resistance of 30 meters, the watch is designed to fit all wrist sizes.

The dial of the Beda'a Eclipse II stands as a testament to artistic ingenuity, blending celestial inspiration with bold design elements. Its off-center jumping hours and minutes at twelve sit on an aventurine base, evoking a star-strewn night sky. Accompanied by an independent small seconds display at six o’clock, the spear-shaped small seconds hand gracefully sweeps over a circular satin-finished counter, reminiscent of Qatar’s windswept desert sands. This harmonious alignment of textures and symbolism underscores Beda'a's dedication to purity and innovation.

The Eclipse II movement combines two crucial variables to achieve the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, accessibility and exclusivity. At its core is the Sellita SW300, a proven caliber well-known to Beda'a, having been present in the original Eclipse. This Swiss automatic movement beats at 28,800 vph and offers a power reserve of 52 hours.

For this second chapter, Beda'a has added a module developed in collaboration with the specialist workshop Dubois Depraz. This partnership enabled Beda'a to design the Eclipse II with a perfectly balanced 37mm diameter and a slim profile under 10mm (precisely 9.5mm).

The Eclipse II comes with an alligator or ostrich leather strap, offered with a matching pin buckle. Its production is limited to 100 pieces per year. Price started from from 4,000 ِCHF.
